AnonD-63007, 21 Dec 2012Its cheaper compered to competitors, but still expensive, I... moreThat's sweet and all but Oppo is actually a known brand at least in Europe. They are known for their high-end BluRay players that even surpass Pioneer's top-of-the line products in terms of performance and quality.

Its cheaper compered to competitors, but still expensive, I believe most people the the EU buy known brands, no one that is never heard of. Oppo most likely wont sell enough units, unless them lower the price. In china, they have random branded mobiles and people don't really care about brand names, but features.

I don´t think the decision has anything to do with the economy in Europe being bad, it´s probably more to do with the tarifs the are likly asked to pay coming from China..

Maybe China company think EU economy are bad, so they don't fancy EU market as the volume will be low?
Or maybe they are worrying about EU authorities recently launched multiple lawsuit against Asian corporate looking for easy money?

Androidauthority has posted an update to their article on this matter, Oppo contacted them and denied this news.

Why is everybody so negative and acting like they don't need phones like these in Europe.
While the company is still new and didn't make a big name for it self - any competition and low prices are welcome by me.
We need more sub 500$ phones regardless by who.
