They have been even worst in the past, I give you that, but I wouldn't call it "ok" to kill every single phone who has been sold last year plus killing some notorious phones of this year lineup such as Xperia U and Sola.
They should have learn from the mistakes of past, Samsung did and is starting to shape-up (although it is far from perfect, their support still has flaws).
It's because I do not find Sony's policies "ok" that I have vouched to never buy a phone from them again (until they change their policies).
I would rather buy an iPhone (which Apple is still supporting the models from 2009) than ever buy a Sony.
People often say Apple does "overpriced" crap. What do you can Sony-priced phones that get axed from support in less than a year? Now THAT is overpriced crap!

sony should have whitemagic, bravia engine, highresolution screen AND walkman and xloud speakers alongwith OptiContrast to be a hot seller. Otherwise, it is just another dud

And the 2011 lineup, the Play was too special so i understand why they cancelled ICS for it, and the rest got their ICS upgrade and they didnt even need it. I used my 2011 Xperia (Pro) until 3 months ago and i never bothered to upgrade it to ICS. Same with my mother in law, she still use her Xperia Mini on Gingerbread, she dont see any need for upgrade, it works great as it is, fast and stable and no issues.
Sony is doing ok with updates, but they are a few months too slow. My daughters samsung tablet is getting Jelly Bean any time now (already seeding in some countries), plus samsung has already upgraded SIII to JB, compared to that Sony is very slow, since its still a few months till they will start upgrading 2012 flagships. I believe they will improve as they get bigger, and the Yuga seems to be a good way to capture signifiant market share on the high end if they can make it available worldwide in reasonable time.

That is what's already happening to those who are very unfortunate to unlock a defective unit from Sony. You do know there aren't absolutely perfect phones right? It's all about what the support does once they fail. That is where Sony fails, hard!

This is a problem with Note 2, the display is too big and easy to read from an angle.

The explanation is supposedly that the Go has lower resolution, thus it has more graphics power to spare, and thats why they found it sufficient to run Jelly Bean.
Recently bought a Xperia U for wife, dont care that it will not get JB, it runs very well on ICS, no problem, it doesnt hang or stutter, the lags are so small that you would not mind or even notice it if it wasnt for all the ios and wp fans constantly nagging about Hangdroid and whatever. Almost as good as it was on Gingerbread. The only ones having lagging problems with android are, as you already know, only WP and iOS users. They dont really count do they, since they are not using android anyway.
Those who want serious stutter and low performance can just get a WP8 phone with 512MB, like Lumia 620 or HTC 8S, now thats what i call low performance and serious hangs and lagging in the webbrowser, despite having a powerful Krait dual core processor. Ders even stuttering in the stutters. You dont see that bad performance on a dualcore ICS, or even on an ok single core, and if you do then Jelly Bean is not gonna help you at all.

I own a sola. Im no hater, I love Sony...well loved. If budget phones were not to be updated then why is XPERIA GO has a planned update when it is priced lower than SOLA?

what they have done to x10? given the gingerbread update... is that bad?
sola and others which are not receiving JB are budget devices! and no company gives version updates to budget devices.
does Samsung, LG, HTC give updates to budget devices ?

Xperia z is a monster phone but internel memory is only 16gb n thats not enough for a full hd phone for hd videos games apps i personaly want minm 64gb internel im using sgs3 16gb with 32gb card but this is not enough for bcz i downloaded heavy games like gta vice city ...zero hour..gta3 hd movies alot of other apps

Pls dont buy Xperia. They will ditch you in upcoming updates. Look what have they done to the X10, Xperia U and Xperia Sola and the 2011 Xperias especially the Xperia Play.
