Need of the hour for future generations. It is better to come out at the earliest with sodium cobolt batteries.
Any good vehicle rightly priced will be up for grabs.
In a country like India, where price concious is very high, quality bwith right price will click.

As the product page note, Sony help to design the looks of the car, The automation sensory system, and the entertainments unit. but Magna engineered the car parts.
I won't be surprised if the marketing dept slip up and claim more than they should, but so far, it seems they are pretty damn careful on what sony is building, aiming, and who made what.

Sony's EV is being compared to Apple and Xiaomi's own EVs because they share many similarities in which they are all consumer electronic companies that are trying to create a concept vehicle. Of course it's not fair to compare Sony's first EV to multiple iterations of Tesla vehicles, which in itself is far more invested in the development of cars compared to Sony.
2. Technically, nobody said that Xiaomi or Apple is making an electric vehicle, but there are definitely many concepts spreading around about their own prototypes, and honestly speaking, they are just less advanced compared to what Sony just brought now. For a company that you always say "will lose money due to poor sales," it's actually surprising that they somehow managed to invest more into developing a better concept vehicle that might actually make it into the market earlier than expected.
3. The fact that you're saying that Sony should be compared to something like Tesla rather than any of the popular consumer electronics brands instead is an indicative evidence of just how advanced Sony is when it comes to various fields. In digital cameras, audio peripherals, televisions, gaming console, multimedia contents, they do excel in all those fields, and even the Xperias are really good but not meant for everybody.
Just merely giving appreciation to the quality of Sony products is already apparently an intended hatred against somebody when the guy is totally just speaking facts? Why not try to comprehend first before replying?
MIUI will not be hated if it didn't have such problems, and that just goes to show the quality difference that arrives with low prices. And yes, I do have two Redmi phones as I say this.

To note, Sony Vision S1 is made in collaboration with Magna Steyr, a renowned car manufacturer.
Sony understood making car from scratch is a tall task so they offload the actual car making to Magna Steyr, someone who actually is in car making business.
Sony may help with the car design, but mostly Sony originally intended to focus on using the car as testbed for the imaging sensors for car automation (Image sensor, Infrared sensor, simplified LIDAR, etc) . Something that Sony actually is trying to sell.
The car have been running around the globe for a year now, testing and do promo works. The response to the car seems to be highly positive. Possibly due to working with seasoned car manufacturer, have am actual car who do actual road test, didn't do tall promises, and mostly do grounded target) and Sony seems to be interested in selling the actual car now.

Why does it have to be an SUV? I'm so tired of every new electric vehicle being an SUV or a crossover. It's the worst form factor. Take a normal car, jack it up, get no benefit except worse handling, more rollover accidents, and more danger to other cars around you. I'd like to see more sports wagons and mid sized hatchbacks. Same functionality without the drawbacks. And they don't look stupid, like SUVs and crossovers.
