Also, after a point higher higher clocks solely won't provide much of an advantage. ARM needs to improve its GPU architecture, and the lead of x86 architecture may completely vanish. It's actually great that Apple realised thus and that's why Apple's new M1 Max chip has a 10-core CPU and a ginormous 32-core GPU. That size along with the unified memory help immensely, in adding speed. Plus, the smaller node size ensures that the efficiency difference between being plugged in, and on operating on battery, is almost non-existant.

the test should be playing 1 game, coding or rendering at the same time, even old i7 can still run 1 game too.

But redesigning x86 to be more efficient and powerful than ARM is just way more unrealistic than ARM companies providing driver updates for longer.

Imagine your current smartphone is using x86-based CPU and GPU. Sure, you're constantly receiving driver updates for 5 or more years, but I doubt you'd be able to comfortably hold that phone for more than 5 minutes when doing tasks as basic as browsing the web, lol.

Regardless of their choice, they surely have a distinct advantage over Intel, and that's due to the more advanced fabrication process used to build their CPUs.

Improving from being horrendously crap to something still bad but somehow more usable, lol. How I wish laptops were capable of sustaining high performance without the need of plugging it into the charger to achieve it, just like how the new M1 Macs are doing it, along with super long battery life that one can easily rely on to be used for a day without having to worry about drained battery after just 1 hour of heavy use.

But hey, the games, right? The GAMES! Everyone ONLY play GAMES on laptops!

The M1 is a very purpose built SoC designed to prioritize all the productivity things that Apple users typically do on their computers. This is great for content creators, but not necessarily a game changer for general computing.

I like how everyone now licks the ARM arch, knowing that SSDs were a much higher upgrade from stupid HDDs and nobody says anything about that, give the M1 Max an 4,500 RPM HDD and it will automatically be a crap computer.

Apple, ok, their M series is monumental, then again it is proprietary and nobody but Apple is using it.

P4 era is back! AMD effortlessly beating them with that lower clock.

Hopefully they get it right (like last time) with releasing the successor to their core series (which is clearly old and dying, much how the pentium series died in the "hands" of Athlons the core series is being killed by Ryzen).

You know this is a lie, and you can pretty much check this yourself by going to notebookcheck and comparing any AMD laptop vs Intel laptop.

Yes, performance is better, but temperatures are equally bad.
