Trooper, 07 Jan 2022A typical consumer response. But I'm pretty sure that ... moreFrom the article, it seems their idea was that volume controls change the volume on connected devices. How's that a real idea? That's what all connected devices do. The most stupid part of this story is the US Patent Office actually considers that something you can patent.

This is why globally few countries respect US patents anymore and protection for patents has been specifically excluded from recent trade agreements.

Cerol, 09 Jan 2022Well, it is more like another ignorant comment...Man not ignorant but relevant as always.
Some people which lead top and most valuable companies in world thinks they can do litterary everything because they have money and power.
Well yes they can and cant.
When comes to laws money always speaks in matter.
But not every person or company can be bought.
Its right everything have its price but some people value them selves more than just mountain of papers called money.

US: Court ruled patent infringement on one of your features, you have 60 days to fix everything or we will literally ban importing your phones, your laptops, your services...

China: Ah someone stole your entire technology? How very sad, we are going to make sure to put your complaint into a special folder *throws the document into a trash can called "special folder"*

People in these comments are not reading the details about the infringed patents. They are not just "the volume control". It's more involved than that.

Imagine patenting volume keys controlling volume OMEGALUL. The idea is so stupid that nobody even thought about that being a patent at google.
Makes me wonder how apple didn't patent their mute key and sued one+

Why these obvious ideas are patentable is the real disgrace here

But I'm pretty sure that if you were a business owner that had a technique, unique selling point or something that differentiated your product/s from your competitors, that you paid substantial time and money to develop, and your competitors used it without your knowledge or permission, which subsequently put you out of business, I'm sure you would be more than a little upset, no ?.
