WB-101 are good earphones for the price, I have been using since a month. The build quality is the highlight of the product.

Swaraj, 13 Jan 2022If you truely love technology , you can't hate devices... moreI love technology as much as the next guy but I don't see how that's relevant to me stating my dislike for HMD for not giving Android 12 to an Android One phone like Nokia 9 PureView.
It's been a while but IIRC their official statement for Nokia 9 PV not getting A12 had something about the camera setup not being compatible with A12, which is basically translation for the fact that they lack competent engineers. That would've been forgiven but their compensation for it was laughable, they essentially just offered you a 50% discount on their much more inferior products.
Also, HMD is anything but innovative, Samsung, Oppo and even Xiaomi do more for Android innovation than HMD.

    > Some companies like to put great AI with really crappy comera hardware , some use state of the art hardware with no digital manipulation whatsoever .

HMD does neither of these. Sony doesn't use ML algos to improve their image quality and instead uses tier-A hardware. Some people actually prefer them over a Pixel or an S21 Ultra because of this reason.
I can understand HMD not having the resources to allocate to ML but they can at the very least get better sensors. Smartphone cameras are kind of important, even to folks who have zero presence on social media.

    > Some like latest and fastest processor for Speed and longer driver support . Some don't care about any of these fast and latest cpus .

That's great but then why does XR20 a smartphone with Snap 480 cost as much as if not more than a Samsung A52s with Snap 778?
They can stick to whatever design philosophy that they want but they should price their devices accordingly.

PixelFan, 12 Jan 2022They're not only loosing on marketing but also loosing... moreIf you truely love technology , you can't hate devices like nokia 9 pv for trying to do something different in a different way . And every company has their own philosophy . Some companies like to put great AI with really crappy comera hardware , some use state of the art hardware with no digital manipulation whatsoever . Some people like to let ai do the hardwork as they enjoy clicking (seriously no judging . Phone is supposed to make things easy and that's what ai does ) but there are those who like to choose what they want in their clicked pics . So it's upto you what you want .

Same thing about processor ... Some like latest and fastest processor for Speed and longer driver support . Some don't care about any of these fast and latest cpus . Instead they just want their data to be secure . So one shouldn't judge a company for having a different philosophy

NokiaFan, 12 Jan 2022 HMD is doing great in reviving the brand "NOKIA"... moreThey're not only loosing on marketing but also loosing the people they're supposedly catering to.
The PureView fiasco is a low hanging fruit so I won't pick that. Even if you ignore it and look at their smartphones released thus far you get subpar processors, average cameras, bad design (ever since they outsourced designs to an ODM), the software experience isn't too great but at least they've learnt their lesson with a not so great Android 11 rollout. Their smartphone strategy is virtually non-existent, with them branching into other markets while their smartphone division has garnered such a bad reputation means no strategy will emerge anytime soon.

HMD is doing a good job from a business perspective in that they realize the subpar quality of their products and have therefore decided it'd be best to not keep all their eggs in one basket because they don't want one domino falling causing the entire company to topple. The brand will survive but their reputation, I am not sure about that one.

Quite frankly their smartphone business can still see a revival if they actually try to make a decent product. But I sincerely doubt that will happen.

HMD is doing great in reviving the brand "NOKIA". I recently had their tab and it is one of the best in the market. It is wrong to say that their devices are not good. They are losing on the marketing and depending heavily on people sentiments.
Planning to try their earbuds. I have to buy one :)

Design definitely is a cause of concern during such purchase consideration by any common user, be it Gen X / Y / Z .

Wired ones seem rightly priced and a decent design. We've been buying them earlier as well, off the shelf.

Wireless variety seems to be a bit on higher side, considering the existing market competition, though.

But in case the quality compensates, one must definitely consider the purchase. Afterall, we dont go for L1 always for personal preference n choice.

Remember, Nokia went down but didn't compromise on quality, all these years.

You can consider the purchase from them again, without going into company financials......

Never buy Nokia earbuds. They don't work out of the box. Even if they work one side stops working very soon.
