Ivo., 12 Jan 2022Oh, wow, and not a moment too soon, 4G was like 5 years ago!Nine in fact. I know coz that's when I started my job as the company I work for were launching 4g. 2013. You're so right as well because 4g will likely be switched off around 2026.

You're talking as if all i7 11th generation are useless. Even the six core i7 CPUs are much better than previous generations but the i7 11800H is more or less the daddy out of mobile CPUs. Even the AMD Ryzen 9 can't match it.

And speaking from experience you should not always look for spec in a laptop. Asus laptops tend to have problems after 2-3 years not when it is new and it's near impossible to get parts.

Well, the storage on the surface 8 is user upgradeable so the 128GB model I guess is the winner. It would be best to get an i7 with 16GB as that would last the longest.

But the whole Surface 8 Pro now looks bad. It uses power-hungry 11th gen Intel, no microSD, no regular USB Type A, very high price, extremely high price for the keyboard and pen. I have not bought one as I cannot find an online US keyboard in Europe.

I am wondering what would be the pricing of the Asus ROG Z13. It seems much better thought out. The ROG has Intel 12th gen i.e. long battery life on the small cores, external GPU for most of the apps you actually want to run when not watching a video, it includes a keyboard, has micro SD slot. Yes, the ROG is a bit heavier but so is the Surface 8 Pro.
