Not everyone drops their phone on the ground 50 times a day. You do place it in and out of pockets and on tables at least that many times every single day without exception. It's why glass is preferred. It also feels better in hand and just fits better on devices that cost 900€ and above. There is nothing wrong with plastic backs on 200 or 300€ devices. You at least know why it's there. I can't think of any reason why Galaxy S21 had plastic back at its price point other than Samsung's greed. Imagine if Apple used plastic back on their vanilla iPhone model. People would eat them alive. But Samsung, I can count 50 people furiously defending it here. Lol.

In what way is a glass back an upgrade over a plastic back? A plastic back is lighter, less slippery and offers the best reception. The S22 series should have kept the plastic back of the S21 series.

And Apple removed charger so Samsung needs to follow because Android OEMs are biggest Apple fans and Android's point of sell is a cheap ios alternative (miui 13 is becoming ios full time that even they copied settings icon)
So unlike others at comments in here seems like Android OEMs know what are they dealing with and how to deal with this Google spyware that became popular

Agree S10+ was great because of two things:
- Camera setup was positioned that you can use your phone even when it was lying on the table. with the new camera setup it will be unstable to use it because it is not symetric...
- Memory extension card slot!!! Still the best! and so far, I can only reccommend Sony phones as they still support it in their highend phones...

These greedy companies are already conning us every chance they can. They replace premium materials with cheaper ones. Remove charger from box. Remove consumer-friendly features (3.5mm jack, sd card slot, etc). So yes, i don't want them to con us any further. If i am paying for a flagship, i want it without compromises on quality.
The thing is, you can always put a plastic case on top of any glass phone. But you can't do the vice versa.
