Vikcy, 02 Jan 2013I have been using sony phones since 2001 and believe they h... moreToo bad that, unlike in 2001, phone have now evolved into computational systems rather than just phones.
This means that having a good phone means more than just having reliable hardware. It also requires stable software support and frequent updates to it's core OS.

That is where Sony is failing, they are killing their hardware way too soon with the lack of OS updates.
Sure, they have the potential to improve... but their choice has been not to for quite a while now.

That is why I won't be buying a Sony any time soon.
If you want an Android phone, Samsung has vastly improved the support of their flagships but the Google Nexus is the one true sure choice.
Apple is still supporting their 2009 iPhone 3GS, so consider them too if Android isn't a must.

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2013And iPhone is inspired by a Sony phone. No it isn't, get your facts straight.
The original design team (hired by Apple) designed the iPhone imagining they were actually delivering it for Sony.

At the time, Sony did not have any phone remotely like the iPhone (that was a true creation of those Apple designers, despite the mock-up branding).

For the love of all things Holy, someone please ask Sony to get over the "alphabets". It's so confusing now..They have like Xperia A to Xperia Z and then those with double alphabets as well..Why can't they just make up their minds with a few phones...THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME!!!

Happy costumer here too, since 2002 and Arc user since 2011 and so far not a single fault.
Same days ago a friend of mine with iPhone commented how about Sony repair services? And I just replied "no idea... Never needed them".
Will buy not this one but the next flagship! Or the next one...

I have been using sony phones since 2001 and believe they have made a huge fan following which includes me as well. I bought Xperia arc in April 2011 and since then never seen their service centre as not required. The quality is top notch, all battery bla bla is shit as all the smartphones have to be charged once in a day be it Xperia S, T, V or Sammy SIII or Note II, HTC Butterfly etc. Sony's only problem is availability of phones at global level and then service back-up. Rest they are the best. Sony is Sony.
