It had low resolution screen with low refresh rate, low storage to start with, no ultrawide camera (can't substitute this with good main camera) and terrible battery life. Most Android flagships at price similar price to iPhone SE provided these features.
So you have to be aware of the fact that whenever you choose an iPhone you are choosing to have software support instead of better hardware (when you compare with phones of similar price)

I did say many times that no matter what iPhone you buy, you'll always have a very good experience with exclusion of SE models which really fall down to what you care about as they have many corners cut. You can't take a single iPhone in lets say last 5 years and say that base model is terrible. Or even "not good". As for smaller iterations or changes, no one forces you to buy new iPhone every year. I have mine for 3 years and see no need to buy new one (yet). That's where long term software support comes in that basically no Android vendor has it good with exception of maybe Samsung that really takes good care of phones from mid range to flagships. The rest can't even take good care of flagships, let alone midrangers. If you're new to iPhone you'll probably buy the latest one. And then it's just a matter of when you feel like upgrading to new one. Or not.

How about the fact that you can purchase 3 Xiaomi flagships in price of one Apple flagship. Btw, that way you'll gwt software support for all those years of 3 Xiaomi phones and also get hardware updates alonf the way.

Ever thought it might be they just make good products to a point they can dare charging more and people still pay that because they know they'll get a quality product and service? No, of course not, in your heads it's like everyone is just fanboys and they'd buy anything and everything they release. That's not how any of it works. I bought iPhone because I expected certain specs and service (mostly software support long term) and Apple is the only company that even remotely delivered that. I don't care if it would say Xiaomi or Samsung on the back of the phone if they could release updates the way Apple does and for same period of time. But no one does.
