jamalu96, 19 Jan 2022How will Apple address the ram expansion? Current M chips ... moreSwap? Swap on these is extremely fast as well. Not not say Mac Pro will most likely have 64 - 128gb base model..

But seriously, nowadays computer limited by ram will not slow to a crawl, but have an impact on the SSD only.

Current M chips have integrated memory in soc itself.

Hamburger, 19 Jan 2022Some crazy imagination here: 1) Mac Pro entry level: 16P... moreYes but they will be powerful. The only thing raising a question mark is that these ARM chips are not upgradable (and this is a big reason why they are so powerful, upgrading abilities add overhead). So I wonder how Apple will explain this in those models where professionals like to upgrade.

              Some crazy imagination here:

              1) Mac Pro entry level: 16P 4E cpu with 48 gpu cores and 64GB ram running at 3.3GHz. USD8000

              2) Mac Pro mid level: 32P 8E cpu with 64 gpu cores and 96GB ram running ar 3.6GHz. USD14000

              3) Mac Pro high level: 48P 16E cpu with 128 gpu cores and 144GB ram running at 3.9GHz. USD22000

And apple will still sell truck loads of them.

Might grab an M2 MacBook later this year. They're quite solid laptops imo.

from 28 cores (Intel Xeon W3275X) to 40 cores Apple M1 Master....
Honestly curious. would Apple create multithreading on that beast? and would it also start at 5k?

Hm. from 28 cores to 40 cores... Okay...
