Global Xiaomi 12 model passes through Geekbench with 8GB of RAM

    So I will reserve judgement until I get to test for myself. Btw I also live in a winter country, and parts of China also has full blown winter, so I find it unlikely - though not impossible - that something new has happened here all of the sudden, and not just with one camera module either, but all three, but at different intervals due to the rise of heat.

    Using any electronic device in icy cold though isn't good. The risk of condensation is high, not just in the camera module, but in the rest of the device as well. Most people will store their device inside their (coat) pocket, where it is warm (above 30ºC) and humid, then out in the icy cold (where it can be -20ºC) and dry outside air, this sudden 50ºC change in temprature will cause condensation all over the inside the device, and be much more worrysome than just some fog inside the glass of the camera module.

    This is basic stuff communicated to consumers here in Norway. I'm sure similar information is given to attentive users in other winter countries as well.

    Batteries themselves also don't like going below zero degrees Celsius, generally speaking.

    One of our guides, after using our electronic devices outside in the cold, is to NOT immediately bring it/them inside our living rooms, but instead put it for a while in a colder hallway. This to reduce risk of damage by condensation which is not covered by warranty.

      Yeah, duh! Basic physics. The heat generated inside the device causes a drastic temperature change = condensation.

      Reviewer also did his best to force this by holding the phone vertically, which should be illegal for video btw, instead of horizontally. As heat goes up. You could see this by how the top modules fogged up first in the vertical position.

      Only one short clip showed it horizontally, camera module on top still, and it barely showed.

      Have them hold it horizontally, also known as the correct way, with the camera module on the bottom and it likely won't happen, even in ice cold Russia.

      I'll consider this as user error. Best regards from ice cold Norway.

          hello sorry in your opinion how credible are the rumors that envisage a global launch for the first week of February and a simultaneous possibility to pre-order the phone? while the actual arrival is towards the end of next month

Because suddenly, when you compare Xiaomi 12 to Galaxy S21 in Geekbench, the comparison is somehow invalidated because the guy who made it also had Apple centric webpage (but not exclusive app). Where do you people pull these things from?

So it’s quite clear he has his own bias so it’s possible he’s worked in that bias in the scoring hence why often other programes will score it lower than

                          Mi 12 pro has a custom cooling system and scores 10% to %15 higher on antutu.
                          Plus the telephoto lens and 2k screen bigger battery it’s a better choice..
                          Last year M11 was a electric cooker M11 ultra was a fridge compared to that..

                              Can anyone tell me why geekbench scores are so inconsistent and tends to favour the Apple OSes ? Like even in PC, sometimes the ryzen 9 5000 series chip would get so low geekbench multi-core scores but very good cinebench multi-core scores. What I have seen that cinebench is more accurate and consistent. Don't know what the fuzz about geekbench.

                                [deleted post]In Geekbench, I haven't seen any SD 8 Gen 1 powered device get more than 4k in multi core score even in the GT mode for this phone and other performance modes, so I'd take this score with a grain of salt.
                                It could be fake or just a different Geekbench version.
