I have been repeating over and over.macro shot is NOT shot by 13-26mm lenses.it can be shot with 55-120mm lenses.%99 of smartphone macro lenses are fake and rubbish.

The tonemapping information is merely contained in the file and you can opt out using different color profile settings (such as Default Adobe Color in lightroom), but some of the processing have been already applied to it and you are not able to undo it no matter what you do.

They have higher bit depth to accommodate for wider range of values recorded by each pixel from multiple exposures. No demosaicking, no spatial NR, no sharpening, but exactly the same effect as manually combining mutiple raw files in photoshop.

Edited raw (Chroma NR at 8, WB and tint adjusted to match jpeg output, everything else set to 0) on the left, straight out of camera jpeg on the left. Sharpening is extremely obvious on jpeg if you look at lifeless looking grass and hard outlines of the building. Open the links on desktop since the mobile website will only display heavily compressed versions.

You clearly have no experience of editing any raw files, it seems.

Only with pure data of sensor, you cant get 14 bit out of 12/10bit sensors.

Same thing here. With 0 precessing, a 10bit cmos outputs 10bit raw.

                        I have seen both.
                        I have edited the dng out of 1ii, 5ii, 1iii, 5ii and pro-i.

Sony is not the one trying to make a 12MP photo have same texture of a 200MP photo.

You need processing to simulate the 16-bit.

Anyway, the raw is real raw.
Difference between the jpeg and dng are very small. Sharpening is barely used, bit more contrast for jpeg.

Also extra pixels count for a lot when it comes to landscape and portrait photography. 24MP images created from downsampled quad bayer 48MP images will still look more pleasing than any 12MP images in good lighting because downsampling hides artifacts and makes noise look more granular.

Why do you think Sony is rumored to use THREE quad bayer sensors for next Xperia? That's right, there are certain situations where sheer resolution makes all the difference, and Sony knows it well!

Unfortunately, raw files captured through this app have noise reduction and sharpening baked in, just like iPhone's Proraw. Animal furs will look smudged and finer textures on any subjects will be nothing but all gone. Use Google Camera ports if you want to have high quality, pure, stacked raw files!
