Well apparently, the Xperia mobile business, just for your information in case you were lazy to do your own research, has actually been getting better since 2019, and while obviously it's not as big as Samsung or Apple or Xiaomi, it is considerably great for how little number of units that they are manufacturing every year.
In the first place, Sony NEVER planned to sell many Xperia phones, otherwise they would've made billions of units of a certain Xperia phone model to compete against the biggest smartphone brands (they could easily make it happen by having Sony Electronics division to fund them for this since the Xperia Mobile is already under this). You should always consider that Sony is not interested in selling the highest number of units among others, so stop the need to call out their sales when obviously it would always be lower than the bigger brands who are obviously far more invested in smartphone business compared to them.
