Aluminum?? Whatthefrag Nokia!
I don't want my phone looking like the scratched out iPhone5!!!
Polycarbonate may be "just plastic" in layman speak, but IMO is the toughest, most beautiful material for a smartphone.
We're not talking about a desktop people, phones are meant to be carried around and need to be tougher than what aluminum can offer.

I have had my Lumia 920 (black) for about a month. At first, I noticed the weight and wondered if it would get annoying. Now, I wonder why I thought that to start with it. It feels solid and fits my hand well so works for me. This obsession with who can make the thinnest/lightest phone is irrelevant to me and many I suspect....

As per info i have the 3 other phones would be
lumia 720 a mid range wp8
lumia 520 a lowend wp8( or 7.8?)
lumia 1020 new years REAL flagship(with original wp8 version that works both pc and mobile app as one)
if lumia 520 doesn't come instead the 3rd would be a carrier specific lumia.

Great news. I'm planning to buy a new phone until summer. Sturdy phone with good stamina would be great. Through more than decade been very satisfied with Nokia phones.

DarkStar, 03 Jan 2013I've had an N8 since the day it was released and mine's nev... moreI'm a Nokia N8 and Lumia 920 user. The N8 gets warm in no time especially when using data. And after just 10 minutes of continuously using data, you can boil an egg on it. That's how hot it is. My Lumia gets warm but not as warm as the N8.

AnonD-86242, 03 Jan 2013Nokia is hilarious. "similar hardware specifications... moreWho said it'll still be Nokia's flagship when it gets released? Plus I'd argue that the 920 actually has the better hardware; superior screen, camera, CPU. In fact the only areas where I think the SGS3 are better are the GPU and RAM. Oh and perhaps battery life.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2013I can see all those scratches alreadyAnodised aluminium doesn't show scratches like non-anodised does. I've had my aluminium N8 for over 2 years now, never been kept in a case, and there's not a single scratch on the aluminium that shows anything other than the phone's dark grey colour.
