[deleted post]HarmonyOS 2 IS based on Android, not just the kernel. Every single reviews of Matepad with HarmonyOS 2 confirms that IS android - it still accepts apk file, has "ADB" which is renamed to "HDB", etc. Don't tell me those feature comes from kernel, because it IS NOT. It's not even bother to changed partition structures, which is the same as android devices.

I am not surprised. The original Apple iPhone 13 series does have cheap looking design compared to Premium looking S22 Series.
No wonder this manufacturer prefers cheap iphone design to its 80 USD phone.

cozxta, 28 Jan 2022Harmony OS is a forked Android, that's all. Harmony OS 1 is based on Huawei's Microkernel. Developers were having a hard times on porting their Android Apps to HMS or they are just too lazy, leaving Huawei a no choice but to create an Harmony OS 2 which is heavily based on Linux so getting an Android App would be easy. That's why Android and Harmony looks really similar. But based on my experienced, Harmony is smoother than Android.
