Only Apple (dot projector), Huawei (dot projector) and Google with Pixel 4 (Soli radar sensor) were secure, all others use simple 2D method which is incredibly insecure.

You do know you need dot projector and IR camera to map the face in actual 3D and then use that as reference point? Not to mention it also works in near pitch black darkness. Good luck with your selfie camera only face unlocking. Not only you can just put a photo of someone in front of it and it'll unlock, it'll also struggle horribly in poor lighting conditions.

And it seems many people are of same opinion. Sure, fingerprint scanner as extra option would be nice, but I wouldn't want FaceID be replaced by it.

                        It took just two years... Close to the end of pandemic, they finally implemented mask support for Face ID... Implementation of back gesture from right edge of screen will take another 20 years.
