Only problem with it when i saw it was the power button. I don't think it blends well with the full concept design. It's like having a zit on a beautiful face. I mean they should have gone with that round shape and then black and then thinner since that would blend well. Just my opinion/observation.

grey 44, 07 Jan 2013i agree at what point douse it then become a tablet 5 inch... moreBut "phones" today are no longer just phones. They're pocket PC's. Most people today do more computer stuff than calling/texting - due to more CPU power/RAM/etc. Since we stare at the screen more (compared to when they were just phones with some PC features), it tends to strain the eyes. Imagine that the typical desktop screen already strains the eyes - and you will understand why a small device used while walking or riding can cause health issues. We really should stop calling these devices "phones". Calling/texting is now just a minor App - compared to social networking, photography, music and videos, etc. Since technology today allows for thinner devices, makers are now able to stretch the screens further. If you calculate the width x thickness (how you "grip" your device) of today's 4"-5" devices, they are more or less similar to the width x thickness of phones we carried in our pockets in the 90's (e.g. Nokia 2110, etc.)

Sony phones looks great.but they need ram increase updates for phones such as xperia S,P,ION,NEO L,J,U,GO,SOLA,MIRO,TIPO as the have comparatively lower ram in 1 gb and 512 mb ram models when compared to Samsung

all these companies have great products. only difference is that samsung spend huge amount of money to promote its products. but overall, any of these brands will give you more than what you need. added features are there only to convince customers that they are more superior. later on you will realize that you dont need these features.

Haseeb, 07 Jan 2013Last year was a week ago.So sorry if you couldn't figure out what I meant. Seriously, phones coming this year will have screens practically skimming the edges of the phone.

Still for Galaxy S3. I have this phone for almost 6 months and I have no complaints so far. Battery life is good, fluid UI and so thin..

Does the 5" screen includes the capacitive action buttons (back, home, menu) ? Or just the actual display? I'm confused on how they measure smartphones screen sizes with capacitive action buttons like this Xperia Z and Galaxy Nexus.

sam sings, 07 Jan 2013so the row of capacitive buttons look like a part of the be... moreNo. I'm looking at the chunk of space BELOW the capacitative buttons. It was already my gripe when the Xperia S came out (I was a Sony fan and very happy with the earlier SE designs). In the Xperia S it's the part below the clear plastic strip. Unecessary real estate (I think I read somewhere it housed the antenna). It made Sony phones look long-ish. Well that unused chunk of real estate is still there, minus the clear strip. Others try to use the entire front for screen, and place other stuff behind the screen - it's more practical.
