Recently the flip 3 has been selling for as low as 600€ after rebates. So much for the undercut.

.."will be cheaper.." yeah, 950usd instead of 990.
I would also be very surpriced if they can show something as (or more) competent as Samsung does with already more foldable generations (and experiments) behind their neck.

ps.: no, i am no samsung fanboy

naap51d, 01 Feb 2022But sadly, we know "the world" won't take no... moreFun fact:

Z Flip in second year (2021) sold for more than 6 million phones.
iPhone in second year (2008) sold for 3.7 million phones.

People do recognize the revolutionary Z Flip from Samsung and this just the beginning.

But sadly, we know "the world" won't take notice until (cr)apple releases a folding phone.

Nexus One, 31 Jan 2022It's great to see more flip phones. It's my favor... moreMotorola is owned by Lenovo

I've seen the foldable clamshells from TCL and Huawei and their Chinese stuff is hardly impressive. Cover display on both looks pretty useless. P50 Pocket is $400 more than the Flip 3. Razr 3 is the only one being a threat to the Flip series and it will hardly sell being how niche Motorola has become.

I say Samsung will continue to reign supreme globally in this foldable segment they spearheaded and Motorola will continue making the best designs for flip phones like they've always done since the StarTAC in 1996. But Samsung stays at #1 while Motorola makes the best alternative for a Z Flip.

Undercutting last year's model Is fun idea but rather pointless. Samsung themselves are lowering foldable prices every year.

Umm… Flip 4 will be out by then. I, like many others, am not interested in buying any chinese phones anyway.

It's great to see more flip phones. It's my favorite form factor. But I expect this one to be a China exclusive like the Find N. I really don't bother with the Chinese brands. Motorola, Samsung, and Google are American or South Korean. That's what I'll stick to.
