ermis, 04 Aug 2022they have been crashing since they got rid of google servicesMan not having google services is not an issue.
Gnail you can use from brownser or set up as main page so whenever you open your brownser will open your Gmail.
Google play or Harmony i mean Huawei store is likely the same.
Much less apps but only good ones.
Like apple have 20% of Android apps because they asking 100 from every app developer.
Not having google services aint issue.
What they really need is 5G capability.
Google services arent important anymore.
You can send your phone contacts and everything else to your new phone.
Is that easy and simple.

-Trix-, 02 Feb 2022Without Google services Huawei have zero chance.Man harmony is way better than google.
Soon or later people will realise that.
Like in past most cellphones worked on Symbian and when google android came noone believed it could be this sucessfull.
For Harmony OS is likely same.
But soon or later but i hope soon will prevail android like nothing.
Even now is way better and user friendly than IOS so its way better than IOS because it can cooperate with every device regradless of brand. IOS cant and dont.

Still believe Huawei will reaches top in few years or so.
To me they were best. Best cameras, best cpus, now best OS and best many else.
They even top 10 now but every single of their devices are way better than competition could and would ever give.

Over the year, I have read that a lot of European commenters said they are using Realme and Vivo or thinking about buying phones from the 2 brands. But why the market shares of these brands only 2% each?

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2022Xiaomi will fall behind this year. Redmi Note 11 series are... moreThat's 100% correct, i made first step (after 5 years using, 7-8 differente Xiaomi (Redmi) devices), last year. First, there was Huawei (good software, bud outdated Android version, bud good cameras, software), then Samsung, (Solid software (it was ONEUI 3.0 in that time), bud, dull design, and medicare build quality (for the price). In the last 2 months i using realme, and i must say, really good software, fluid fast, good price, and for now thats enough. Maybe thats why is realme on the lis in Europe for 2021, more and more people chose that brand, because of good phone, and prices (better prices than siblings from Oppo, vivo, OnePlus), sowtware is anway the same or similar 99% Colors11 = realme ui 2.0, Coloros12 = realme ui 3.0 etc..

Xiaomi will fall behind this year. Redmi Note 11 series are huge disappointment, while Xiaomi 12 premium series are overpriced for what they are.
There is no longer value for the money balance compared to other top brands like Samsung.
I've been Xiaomi customer since original Redmi Note 3 Pro, now using Redmi K30, all my family members are using Xiaomi devices too, they been great and reliable over the years, also custom ROM support is amazing, but if Xiaomi keeps ramping prices up while offering to real innovation it might force me to begin the exploration of other options.
Yes I know who cares, first world problem, just my little rant because I care.

Samsung is doing great. Go for it.

                          Actually No.
The most competitive era for mobile phone sales was during 2008-2012. With the highpoint probably being 2011 as many competitors were collapsing. We didn't have monopolies like we have now, and a lot more variety.
                          https://www.counterpointresearch.com/recap-of-the-smartphone-market-in-2011/

Let's see, we had these operating systems:
iOS, New Android (4.0.3), Old Android (2.1), Windows Phone 7, Windows Mobile 6, QNX, BlackBerryOS, Symbian, Palm webOS, Bada OS, SailfishOS, Mer (Nemo/MeeGo), FirefoxOS, etc etc.

And we had a more split market share, with more OEM competitors:
Apple, Google, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, and BBK Technologies (Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Realmi, etc etc).
                          ...those players in addition to:
Palm, BlackBerry, Microsoft, Nokia, HTC, Motorola, Dell, HP, Phillips, Siemens, Sonim, Pantech, LG, Sony/Ericsson, Archos, Sagem, Kyocera, Sharp, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Panasonic, NEC, Acer, Lenovo, Asus, Alcatel, ZTE, Meizu, etc etc.
