Of course this means that all current 5G phones are already obsolete on T-Mobile, because they don't have bands to support this new frequency when it's rolled out. They really need to develop chipsets with universal radios that can tune into new frequencies, as they roll out, like tuning an old fashioned radio, if that's possible. But that will never happen, because it would undermine the profiteering economics of planned obsolescence that benefits all involved, the chipset manufacturers, the cellphone manufacturers, and the carriers.

It's kind of funny because T-Mobile does utilize mmWave but definitely not as much as the other competitors.
This is a good move. As long as everywhere gets you 500mbps and up, it's more than enough for most needs; including online gaming and 4K video streaming (on laptops and Xperia 1/Pro phones).
