I don't understand what all that mad marketing analysts and UX designers are thinking about, but nowadays there is absolutely no one tablet in the world of the appropriate size (less or equal to 11'' at least) that would have a 3.5 mm port. A am ready to spend 800 USD for a modern device with a good hardware and support, which would be useful in many cases and continue getting SW updates for at least 5 years, but now I can tell them "good buy".
There are lots of reasons why wireless headphones suck. But they start telling me that I need to spend 200--250 USD more for those useless (for me) devices just because it's a trend. Then buy your devices yourself.

The same planet as everyone else but perhaps China so don't be so snarky. The choice for good quality tablets in the Western markets is not as wide as it used to be when Google, Samsung, Huawei, Sony, etc were announcing new tablets every year, the way only Samsung and Apple do now.

I like how in the promotional images, the ultra is the only one without a normal front view in an attempt to hide the stupid notch that shouldn't even be there. If you're embarrassed about a "feature" so much that you feel the need to hide it in your marketing, then it just shouldn't exist.

Anonimo, 02 Feb 2022The point about the prices is that Chinese vendors (specifi... morewhat's the name of the planet you live on? european amazon sites are full of huawei tablets offers. the electronics shops in my country too. the thing is the prices are quite similar to samsung's. ex: "HUAWEI MatePad 10.4 inch, 2K FullView Screen, Wifi Tablet, HUAWEI Sharing, eBook Mode, 4 Speakers, Android 10.0, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, No Google Play Store, Midnight Gray" at 362eur while a samsung a8 (true, only 3 / 32gb) is only 220eur....

The point about the prices is that Chinese vendors (specifically Huawei) have disappeared from the European market (for tablets) and therefore Samsung is basically only competing with Apple for the top end tablet market.
Another by-product of the American decision to kill Huawei... I am typing this on a nice Huawei tablet that I paid 1/4 of these prices and I have no idea how I will be able to replace it when the time comes...

I got Surface Pro... moreAnd I bought a 15,6 inch (1080p) foldable HP ENVY with touchscreen, 16gb ram, 512gb SSD, at a lower price than the base Tab S7! It also runs android apps smoothly since its RYZEN processor has a powerful graphics card. It's not as light as a tablet but I don't mind, If I minded I would choose the thin 14 inch version which is half the weight.

Who in their right mind would pay that much for an *android tablet*? One would rather buy Samsung's own Galaxy Book instead. Just a tad thicker and heavier than the tablet with kb case, much more flexible for common use cases (Intel, w10), oled display with touch, better kb and track pad, great battery etc you get the point. Or buy an iPad, a MacBook. Seriously.

Lol, people are weird. That's a weird fixation y'all have.
We lost replaceable batteries which allowed phones to go for years and years (by replacing the battery once it would go, without needing to open the device). Nobody talked.
We lost the 3.5mm which can be had with a simple charger+3.5mm to USB c adapter. *Now* you talk?
It's like, what the heck people? That's not even a debate, why do you care? Adapters allow you to choose your dac instead of relying to the embedded one as well. It's the obviously better solution.
I guess that's when eccentricity becomes mainstream I guess...
