My only complaint to Shamsung is WHY they choose to put a 18-month old SoC on this model for a Note-10 series. back then. This is one of many problems that I see with this brand thus why they are labeled as such as I stated.

The SD888 is slightly more power and that's it (look at Antutu benchmark and Geekbench), but the SD 865 is more power efficiency. Look at all phones with SD 865 and 888 and you'll find out.

Oh, and great move for Samsung to make this 5 year pledge. They are finally on pair with Apple.

Seriously though, I'm genuinely glad that I chose Samsung, who are leading the way supporting our smart devices longer than the other Android OEM's, it's environmentally good for our planet & our health, giving us the choice to continue, pass on, sell or repurpose, when we need to get or give the next latest & greatest.
Is it good enough? No, but it's a good start.
I'm no pro, but we expect right to repair.
Samsung do what you can❗

ℹ For reference my Galaxy Note9 (N960F/DS) from August 2018 came with Oreo (Android 8.1) for 5 months, then had 2x OS updates:
Pie (Android 9) with One UI on Jan 2019 finishing with
Q (Android 10) One UI 2 on Jan 2020.
It received 3 years of Monthly Security Patches: Aug 2018 to Aug 2021, then switched to Quarterly, probably until Aug 2022 for a total of 4 years; then❓
Dear Samsung it would be great for a final 2x security patches 6 months apart for the Galaxy Note9, it's got your Exynos 9810 if that helps make it easier?
Please help, I'm scared.

Pumpino, 09 Feb 2022Do people keep their phones for 5 years?✅ Yes, I use my S6 that I got Nov '16 as a music player: 3.5mm jack to 2x RCA's to my hi-fi amp & anything else I need additional to my Note9 (got Nov '18) which will be used in the same way but better with 512gb + 512gb MicroSD storage.

This should include the S20 FE 4G Snapdragons too. Even though it's a continuation of Exynos variant, it came with Android 11 o.o.b. and it came in 2021. It's a stronger and more stable version of the phone, on par with S21FE performance-wise, which should make it eligible for Android 15. (4 OS)

Anonymous, 13 Feb 2022Your requirements are very detailed and specific....I am th... moreBelieve it or not, but 99% of my need for magnification is for seeing things afar rather than taking pics, there are so many times a simple 2x zoom would have allowed me to see things that numeric zoom can't do.
For example, yesterday I saw an aircraft (general aviation, nothing big) waiting for taking off, I was quite sure of what type it was, but it was too far to see it the brand name on the tail.
It was one of the many examples of how, whenever I get outside, there is always something I wish I had a zoom to see better.
Other than that, the main is the only camera I really care about for photography (I don't have the budget for a dedicated camera), though I like the macro a lot, and it is handy to have sometimes.
And yeah, except for few details, my Poco F2 Pro is more than enough for me.
Exceptions like the lack of zoom, and the optical FPS that is awfully slow, which is why I prefer ultrasonic or at least capacitive (though I want to be able to unlock my phone without lifting it, and I really don't like the one on the side).
And I also love how it has almost no camera bump and how even the bottom bezel is super slim (I think it may be one of the slimmest among of Android smartphones of its gen of around early 2020).
In fact, except for the side FPS, the phone that would match the most my tastes and needs are the Sony ones, but the Xperia 10 isn't what I look for, and the 5 is crazy expensive for its features compared to others.
And their dedicated shutter button is a big positive point for me.
I like to customize my phone, between Nova Launcher and wallpaper changer app, and I want my phone to not lag just for that, so I'd avoid older phones' SoC for that reason alone.

My case is particular.... moreYour requirements are very detailed and specific....I am the opposite in camera requirements, I don't like zoom and never have , not even on my pro canon DSLR gear many years ago...apart from my Motorsport photography days.
But now I stay with standard wide and ultra wide, as long as it's not too wide.
I moved from Motorsport with real cameras to landscapes and buildings with mobiles.
But my actual phone requirements are simple, an adequate 12mp resolution , good enough for most lighting situations.
A battery that lasts easily 1 day and GPS.
Screen tech isn't important to me, refresh rate isn't important, and I've never used nfc and don't know how to use it for contactless payments.
I tend to go for upper mid tier CPU and flagship if money allows...I don't game apart from on my pc nowadays.
But yeah I like being able to do spreadsheets on the go, tag litter dumps for the council or environmental trusts, share pics with friends from different countries, like people I've met from India, Japan , Indonesia, Latvia ,etc over the lockdowns.
Nothing I do would tax even a medium powered few year old CPU

My case is particular.
Other than having all the 4G bands in my country (France) :
*First, I won't take any smartphone that has a front facing camera that can't be hidden (bezel, pop-up/flip-up/slider or no front camera).
*Second, I won't take a phone with curved edges display, 2.5D display are already annoying enough, mainly when using a case.
*Thirdly, I want a big phone, the way I type make it so I am offset for some reasons, so the bigger the display, the smaller the error margin is.
*Fourthly, a 3.5mm Jack is a big point, there have been multiple times when being able to simply and quickly plug my Corsair VOID PRO (which is Jack connected to its USB-A dongle) into my phone was really useful.
Including when I had to charge my phone, and clearly I don't need another thing to charge or to have its battery die on me when away from an outlet.
*If possible, I would like a camera configuration consisting of a Main (Wide) + UW (Though I never use the UW) + Telephoto (at least 2x, but 3x would be better) and extra points for a dedicated Macro and/or Portrait, or if they are integrated with the Telephoto (Macro with the UW is stupid), and if possible all above 12Mp.
*In cameras, I also look for optical stabilization, and having the Wide able to take 960fps.
*If I could, I would also prefer a phone with an ultrasonic underdisplay FPS, also I wouldn't spit on a 3D face recognition using Structured Light.
*I also highly value battery capacity over charging speed, charging speed is only a bonus for me.
*NFC is also highly regarded based on my uses.
*Finally, some specs like dual band SatNav, usually, the full suit of GPS L1+L5, Galileo E1+E5a, BeiDou B1 & B2, and GLONASS, (note that NavIC planning to become another Global SatNav is therefor a good future proofing addition).
But also, IR Blaster, SD Card, Wireless charging, hardware killswitches (mainly for the microphones), and Always On Display, are all features I would also like.
As long as all my apps still works and that my phone doesn't have any performances issues (you know how older phones now can't run smoothly because of all the performances drawing updates there are), which is why I target high-end chipset if possible.
Also, the latest chipset gen (High end or middle range) for having the latest hardware features (better AI for example) is a good point for me.
And since the pop-up have been discontinued and that there won't be any new phones watching my first point anytime soon, I'll try to keep my current Poco F2 Pro, which is by far the phone that match the most my features/wish list.
