Sony treats me like a kid but charges me like an adult! Would rather pay same money for something that simply works, is current and does not insult me by treating me like an Apple user. Sony ZL has software issues inexcusable for a device of it's price. "Soon" for Sony generally means a year or more and still does not current or stable SW releases. No "support" and never, ever had a phone necessitating being rooted after purchase just to bring stability, functionality. The camera, speaker and screen viewing angles are a joke - running ZL and checking what other options are out there. No indications from manufacturer anything will be fixed, not even admitting things are wrong and "soon" for 4.2.2 is how many months after release?

many of my friends use Samsung but it's waste..
Sony mobiles do best in real life forgetting the specs..example a Sony single core 1ghz works smooth than a dual core Samsung device

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2013after S3 sudden death issue, I already gave up on Samsung p... moredont do that. I have xperia neo and it has the 'sudden death' problem; It blacked out and the store had to replace the whole mother board. When i went to sony store there were many others like me who have xperia with the same issue.

Nokiaboy, 09 Jan 2013WOW, just found out that the xperia zl also has a infrared ... moreI think ZL will most-likely be a JP/KR/MY/SG release -- those are the only countries I know that has everyday use of Infrared. (Just an assumption though)
Purchasing train tickets, paying over the counter purchase, quick cash-out withdrawal, KR and JP Appliances with IR capabilities, etc...

WOW, just found out that the xperia zl also has a infrared module so you can use it as a remote control. An application by Sony is provided that supports most if not all the vendor TV-s. Sony has just stepped up their game, just amazing. Both phones look simply stunning and these one of these is definitely on my 2013 wish list.

AnonD-95629, 08 Jan 2013Sony really-really has lots of Technological advantage at h... moreIf you follow xperia lineup closely they have growth in smartphone sales. Thats why they focus on Z. Another thing is that during xperia S Launching most of the people where saying it is underpower due to quadcore advance by samsung and htc one x but if you see the speciifcation it will not compete with power processor but it will compete its design build quality and feature that generally people ignore it. another thing is update people always wanted the latest update but in reality its not always necessity to the phone because most of phone ram will eaten up. I really like gingerbread than ics to my xperia s why simple its not eating up my ram too much thou its more smooth than ginger but of the application turns off when multi tasking thats why. Lately I see people buying xperia lineups due to stable interface than samsung and when they see my phone they cant comment with my phones features and they are thinking to switch to sony.

Why does a 5.5” phone screen need to have the same resolution as a 32” inch hd tv? Seems excessive..

I like how they have a Samsung S3 and the Xperia Z are shown together; Sony took out the redundancy of the revealing the name of the 4 main apps you would use every-single-day. I am excited about the Z! 5" Quad-Core Beauty!

Sony might had some problems placing a higher capacity on the Z and ZL, and for that reason they checked into a lower capacity one, however [them] knowing that they are using some power consuming hardware, they needed something to compensate or adjust the device(s)' usage in accordance to the users' usage, and that's why they have STAMINA MODE.
