I'm glad I'll stick with Windows laptops for the foreseeable future, currently on my first laptop that's already 7 yrs old.

The main thing I care about in the new laptop launches is that Apple includes ports like they did on the new pros. There is nothing less slick than a pocket full of dongles that break every 5 minutes to be able to attach to the standards of the world, like HDMI (just about every display you're likely to find in use these days) and USB A (just about every printer, keyboard, mouse microphene, you name it, that you're likely to find. For pro use, being able to show up somewhere and just plug into what's available is worth far more than the fastest processor or a couple of mm or thickness. Not to mention your own peripherals, having to replace them all can cost far more than the laptop...

Meanwhile Intel is dragging the whole earth with it's incompetence.

Thankfully we have ARM, RISCV and Zhaoxin X86

I‘m more likely to keep my current one than buying that.

But, between the touchbar 13" mbp with 2 Tb3 ports i would wait for the 13" M2 Mba with 2 tb4 ports and magsafe 3

                        Will it run CP/M?.
                        Will it have a 4004 or 6502.
It is a shame Apple cannot make an “honest” product at an “ honest “ price.
                        Charles Babbage did.

AnonD-1030581, 21 Feb 2022You cant wait for the M2 Macbook Air from fall?Well I‘d hope it has the ports of the Pro, and black bezels with a standard silver chassis color, but I‘m setting myself up for disappointment. It will be very hard to top what they achieved with the MacBook Pro and the only downgrade from my 2015 MacBook Pro would be the non-removable storage (as well as worse Windows support maybe)

It sounds ridiculous but white bezels would be a dealbreaker for me, the notch is ugly enough on its own.

I did initially hope for a MacBook Pro 14 inch with M2, same design just lower end chip and storage, but I‘m fine with this as well. Guess it’s the last resort for fans of the TouchBar and old design. I would have wanted 512/16GB anyways and then it would probably have been only 100 to 200 $ more or so for the M1 Pro Version without any downgraded components.
