Honestly, FirefoxOS is a great idea. It's a lot more open than Android ever was or ever will be. On top of that it has a better name :D If anyone's interested in FirefoxOS I'd recommend visiting thefirefoxos.com :) It's a fansite of FirefoxOS, but rather nice!

It such a great OS I think, firefox is one of the Open Source software which has a lot of add-ons on their server. We'll the new challenge for firefox is how to integrate and collaborate it in smartphones.

ZTE is a titan in hardware and realise that Android's grip isn't as strong as everyone makes it out to be. In developing countries, smartphones with good price and performance are mostly all that's needed with a usable OS, and that's about it. ...

With this move, they are able to move without the shackles of Google.

I am an Android fan, but seriously Andriod may have a big store, it is not a fully developed Operating system and has many bugs. Ubunto Phone and Firefox can easily kill Android. AS Ubunto supports many app of Android and Firefox OS is HTML based, so u will see a lot of APPs very soon.
As more and more open source OS will arrive to market, the dominance of Android will reduce.

this is great!!! if this OS would defy some unwanted bugs and any elements in android, then android shud take this as a threat..

This is good news to everybody. More OS means more innovative competition. So stop advertising your insecurities, you dont have to get into it if you dont want it.

The fact they decided not to sell the only consumer device running it in several major markets kinda suggested Nokia weren't really investing in MeeGo. And then there were the big WP marketing campaigns... Thankfully, Mozilla have no reason to drop Firefox OS in the same way, and neither do Jolla to Sailfish. Both OS's stand more of a chance.

Another mobile OS? Why? As if the market isn't flooded enough!

There are two leaders: iOS and android (despite its flaws)
And there is one worthy competition: WP8 (despite its limitations)

The only other OS that has even a *chance* of surviving is BB10, not because I think it's nice, but because it's the only one with a huge enterprise backing.

Open source is good, but frankly I don't think Sailfish, Ubuntu or Firefox has a chance of survival with just eager communities behind them (and no real money)
