3 weeks battery life is excellent so no need to take the charger with you during holidays. Just make sure it's fully charged before you go. These speakers are party speakers so they'll definitely be bass heavy for hip hop, edm etc. They're tuned for their audience so not for the classical crowd. It doesn't look like a Devialet product though. Looks more like JBL but, having run into obnoxious people with JBL speakers playing them at full blast, I'm quite turned off by them.
