The steam deck can only game at 720p 30fps in 2022 but will have too wait a year for per order
will it really be worth it
in 2022 4k is the standed or 120hz
how long till the steam deck is obsolete ?

The more I check the reviews and it's been mixed with positive and negative, the more I want this. I never got Final Fantasy VII Remake and God of War (2018) for my PS4 slim because I no longer own a TV. I saw somebody on YouTube playing them and they run amazing!
I'm considering getting the cheapest model. I know people want the higher ones but I figure a 512 GB microSD card goes for $60 on Amazon. I plan to store everything there. My Flip 3 can only reach 6th generation home console gaming for emus like in GameCube. Steam Deck adds the 7th and 8th gens or PS3 and PS4 quality.
We're due. PS4 is nearly 9-years-old.

PS4 (2013) = Steam Deck (2022)
Takes at least 5 to 10 years to make the previous generations' power into a handheld. Wii U was really a PlayStation 3.5. And Vita was more PlayStation 2.25 while PSP was more PlayStation 1.75.

If you mean the Joy-Con sync issue, it affected only some users, and according to Nintendo, it was a manufacturing issue, and Nintendo quickly rectified it.

One thing to consider with Steam Deck is... Linux. While I don't play all that much, I'm planning to get steam deck just for the sake of stats (and hopefully nudging developers more towards making more native / proton compatible games i thw future)

I'm more into retro games from the NES through GameCube eras, so Steam Deck isn't a must-have. But even with some mediocre reviews, I still believe this thing is worth it even at the highest capacity. It's basically a PS4 that you can take with you. I know PS4 is nearly 9-years-old, but graphics are still amazing from it.
Dave2D seems to l love it. Venture Beat too even with the flaws. If you remember, the Nintendo Switch was very buggy too during its initial launch. It didn't get the highest scores 5 years ago. I follow ETA Prime, Taki Udon, Mr. Sujano, and TechUtopia on YouTube, so I'm very aware of the Steam Deck killers. I'm aware of all the cheap Chinese handhelds for emulation and portable PCs out there.
I say the Steam Deck is still worth it if you can settle for the $399 model. I actually reserved one for $5 last year but haven't got an email from them since. This is as affordable and close as putting a PS4 and Xbox One you can carry with you and only $50 more than a Switch OLED. The Switch technically has an SoC from 7 years ago. Not 5. More powerful than Wii U but way less powerful than a PS4 and Xbox One.
BTW, I love my PS4. I rank it only behind PS1 and PS2 among my all-time favorite PlayStation home consoles. The Vita slim is above them all since it's a pocketable PS1 and PS2 for me next to my smartphone with RetroArch and AETHERSX2.

Its a good thing that Most people will wait 2nd or 3rd Gen. Especially if it offers better hardware. For example. AMD 6000 series will have RDNA 2 APU. Since its an OCTA core processor. It's a much better processor than the Steam Deck. Which uses the old quad core with RDNA 2 APU.
Yes. Smartphone is the best gaming gadget to carry around. I already have 2 of them. But I get really bored with smartphone games. Especially if you use the display as controls.

You might better off with one of those. According to The Verge, Steam Deck is one, big, buggy mess. A steaming pile of crap of glitches.
As in most gadgets, most people are better off waiting for Generation 2 or 3. Usually growing pains with every Gen 1 product and folks pay the most for them only to act like guinea pig beta testers. I'm good with my Flip 3 and playing MAME ROMs all day.
I see the AYN Odin Pro go for under $300 but no thanks to Snapdragon 845. Can't play GameCube as well as Snapdragon 888. I have a PS Vita with $600 worth of games on it. Don't really play it. The best gaming gadget should be the one you carry with you: your smartphone.
