Issue is, entire Android smartphones industry is rubbish with updates with exception of Samsung and partially Google which ruins everything with their incompetence with software they wrote to begin with (Android). If company can't give you a clear answer for even 1 year of guaranteed major OS updates, I'd avoid it entirely from the get go even if it has the best specs in the world for lowest possible price. I want complete package, not just best specs and price on paper.

If Honor wants to sell 1100 euro phones successfully it needs a clear and decent update policy.
I was considering honor 50 at 400 euros but customer service centre can't give me any guarantees for updates not 1 Android update.
They say " updates will be delivered to your phone when available". Useless.

Is there even a point of driving OLED at such high frequencies using PWM instead of just doing DC? Just seems like whole lot of work driving it at such insane rates to a point where it probably even diminishes benefits of the dimming. Also dimming is achieved by prolonged pauses between intervals, not sure how you dim while doing it at almost 2GHz rates. Haven't checked how OLED's differ in this regard, although the main one is that with LCD's, backlight is a separate layer from the visualization (pixel) part of the panel. There is no such thing with OLED where every pixel is the backlight in itself.
