The optics of the main module are mediocre for a flagship, as is the sensor size, it's just not small, but definitely not large in the segment it competes in. And as I said I'm no fan of Vivo's processing.
And I somehow suspect that binned quad bayer still messes with SNR, compared to a hypothetical sensor with twice the pixel pitch, all else equal...because I sometimes observe an inexplicable softening even in Gcam output under somewhat challenging (but in no way comparable to a night scene) light, that I attribute to alignment error, due to low SNR, though I don't have actual proof, obviously.

    If I got to sacrifice a jack for dac, it's still just a small price to pay compared to that.
    It's also not easy to find such hw, it's not just the resolution, but sensor size, quality optics, aperture, processing.

I definitely will not go for another Vivo if they don't come up with another flagship with a headphone jack(preferably with the discrete DAC too). The recently updated visuals also have shockingly poor taste, with elements rounder than years old Samsung and cramped buttons with a whole lot of space wasted(for example, the save and delete buttons on the upper right corner of the screenshot interface have been inexplicably shrunken down to about 4x4mm each).

The same for processing, though night mode in that generation was bad, in daylight was processing natural, no weird artifacts unlike many including Huawei.
                  Vivo of today leads in fast hi res processing, HDR and superwide and wide detail in hi res. They got better optics, but lost a jack and lag behind in tele lens, which is quite sad.
                  If they hop in foldables, it would be great to see.

                    That's a shame...going to miss the innovations that came with those phones.

                      Vivo NEX 3 was one of the best looking phones of 2019, but not the most balanced device. The cameras had terrible colors and not the best night mode, it had only a single speaker and poor availability. I was really looking for the new NEX devise from Vivo. Will see how the new X Note series will turn out.
