Xiaomi got popular for selling good phones with low prices. If they cost more than a Samsung they are going down pretty fast.

Automatic fail. The correct prices should be something around 699 for 12 and 899 for 12 Pro...

One thing is for sure. These won't be phones focused on the best price to performance ratio. However, this pricing is still just a rumour based on a leak from one source. It could turn out to be completely false. If the base version for the Xiaomi 12 is only 128gb that price seems inconsistent with their previous pricing for the Xiaomi 11 which actually launched in China for slightly more than the Xiaomi 12. Therefore, there is no reason the Xiaomi 12 should launch for more than the Xiaomi 11 in Europe (other than a boost in profit margins). Xiaomi often deliberately leaks fake high pricing in China and then releases the phone with lower pricing as a marketing tactic to make consumers feel the phone is offering better value than consumers were expecting. They could be using the same tactic in Europe

Without usb 3.0 or above, stable, longer and faster updates software, and the abilities to fully customize OneUI by Good Lock module, Xiaomi is shotting themselves in the foot with that price. Lol a what a joke.

I mean go and get the 12X from China for 500€ or less.
                              It's a 12 with SD870 and without wireless charging.
That's the only remaining reasonable bang-for-a-buck-choice you can make.

If they want to charge samsung money then they need to give samsung level of software as well. Mi UI needs to up it's game as far as software support cycle and speed. Furthermore, It is still needs a little polish for western countries (not saying Samsung is perfect but it has come a long way)

I expect the potential collaboration with Leica will mean more consistent colors. Hopefully, it will not turn out like OnePlus.

For such high prices I'm expecting a lot of good marketing too. Anyway I'm kinda glad that XIAOMI manage became a premium brand. I also really want the 12's to have IP68 rating.
