The alert slider is a fantastic feature. I often use it and it's good to know other phones in the BBK tree will be having it too.

that means realme-oneplus will play xiaomi-poco game

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2022What are you talking about, even!?!I think the point is that the alert slider that slides lengthwise (like on oneplus phones) are more likely to accidentally trigger when you shove them into tight pockets vs iPhone's slider that slides against the length of the frame. I did accidentally flip the alert slider on my Oneplus 8 when I shoved it into a pair of skinny jeans. This whole issue is negated by getting a case though.

Whatever you're saying about accidental switches very rarely happens with OnePlus phones, so thanks for telling us you've never owned one and you're just saying bullshit to glorify and worship Tim Apple and his company.

Not a big fan of Apple iPhone, but their "alert switch" is better designed and thought out. OnePlus, I feel, did a quicky copy and didn't think it through, as their "alert slider" is poorly designed. When you put the OnePlus phone in your pocket (and/or bag/purse whatever), that slider sometimes get "caught" or move or slide to the ON/OFF position without you knowing. The alert switch, in Apple's case, move to ON and OFF in a different direction, perpendicular to the length of the phone, thus when you slide the phone in your pocket, the alert switch doesn't get caught and accidentally move to ON/OFF. OnePlus' ON/OFF alert slider moves in the direction of the length (height/long side) of the phone, or in the direction/movement of you sliding or putting your phone into your pocket...which will lead to accidents of ON/OFF.

I wish more manufacturers adopted the physical alert slider. It's so practical and the one thing I miss from my old 3T.

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2022That will be too many buttons on a phone thenIt's fine as it's function over form.
For many this Alert slider is one too many button. For many removing the camera shutter button was one too less button.
I personally will prefer if they replace this alert slider with a functionality that can be customized. Can be used as kill switch for the new camera/mic access control, gps disable, enable Hotspot, torch, connect VPN, battery saving mode etc.
I haven't changed my ring mode in the last 4 years. Just realized I had moved the quick toggle to page 2 of notification shade.

In the age of divigital revolution, these makers should implement sensors instead of buttons

                              well realme, how about-
                              - scrapping the utterly useless 8+2 mp cameras (or replacing them with higher mpx ones like samsung does)
                              - putting proper OIS on more models (really miss it on my X7 Max, but didn't really have any other choice at the time)
                              - putting USB 3.0 on higher tier models if you really want to take away the mSD slot (say $350-400+, again really miss it on my X7 Max), imagine how much you can hype it up as "10x FASTER than any other phone in the segment", even if very few people like myself would benefit from it.
-putting dualSIM+microSD tray (back to back) like in the Nord CE2.
-working on you camera software and bugs (not sure if it's fixed in RUI12, but why can't it record audio in slow-mo videos, why can't it fricking remember the flash and resolution/frame-rate settings in the camera app)
-making the floating window & one-hand mode freaking RE-SIZEABLE! (the native calculator app can do that, no idea why other apps can't). But I don't like the stupid illogical implementation of one-handed mode in RUI12 I've seen online, why chop off the bottom half of the screen??

Other than that I generally like RealmeUI/ColorOS even with some of these bugs.
