Apple makes great devices doesn't mean the people there are Saints. The business practices they do are atrocious.

How is it greed when they are so far ahead it's not even funny. And they have excellent performance with all things phone is suppose to do. Displays, cameras, absolute smoothness even after 3 years...

                There are more times when masks are needed than just a pandemic, and who's to say we won't have a similar even in the future?
                Masks were around before covid19, it's just a feature so not sure why people moan....options are always welcome

Where I live, we still have mandatory masks indoors and most jobs still require masks even though infections and hospitalizations are at all time lows. Last thing we need is an outbreak/surge of infections now.

                    Also those of us with Apple Watches have been able to unlock phones with mask on the face for months now. And it's working pretty flawlessly. Not ideal, but if you already also have a watch, works fine.

                      Just in time! The Face ID unlock with mask feature, a week before the 2 years of mask wearing here is abolished! Better late than never? In this case, not really!

You ppl just never stop complaining just because it's Apple. Where are you all whining how fingerprint scanners on ALL phones are useless when wearing gloves? Which is not only during pandemic, but all the time.

                              Extra note, the masked unlocking without Apple Watch via FaceID is apparently only working on iPhone 12 and 13 because of wider angle FaceID lenses and higher computational power. It's never mentioned in GSMArena articles, but I've seen this mentioned several times by users.
