What kind of marketing is this? Making statements and not doing it, maybe they try to hype their product so that it will not be so much overshadowed by other brands that shows promising phones.

Galaxy S Advance official JB is already out and about S2, samsung's former flagship, until now no update. Maybe this 2 year old device is nearly to be abandoned for the next couple of years.

Like many have stated, Samsung has updated 2.3 model to 4.0 and now 4.1. What other OEM has done that?
Stop whining, be grateful!

I can't wait anymore. There is no more Patience left in me.I have been waiting for this longly awaited jelly bean update since November but now they postponed the update to February. Ridiculous very disgusting shameless Samsung. Will never buy Samsung product anymore. Sony Xperia V gonna be my next purchase. Bye bye Samsung for forever. You lost your loyal customer just because of your lies.

Guys what the fuss u r making against samsung
u sud thank them for making such a future proof hardware and that they have also given there unofficail test firware jelly bean 4.1.2 to everyone
i have used that on my sgs2 and updated my device already with jelly bean 4.1.2 on top of that i have rooted my device and restored all the previous apps including contacts messags etc the way it was earlier the battery life is great and it is as stable as the jelly bean 4.1.2 on my NOTE 2 and works smoothly
dont ask how the Tw Launcher feels it is very buttery even if u use heavy LwP it still does not lagg and the notification and other jelly bean features are great i am loving it.
if u will compare non of the Sony Lg Motorola rolls out the new updates this fast for the android version.
if someone is thinking that they donot want to use the unofficail firmare so let me tell u if u do not root ur device u can check for software update for ur country as per the release date in ur county through kies or sofware update via phone they sud be able to get the final offical version but if there r no changes in the final version it will say software is already updated ...
Great Samsung u Rock...

I'd assume most people complaining would have been less annoyed/disappointed if Samsung had just gone with an initially very pessimistic release schedule estimate (let's say "Q1/Q2 2013"), instead of first having mentions about possible November release on the various national Samsung sites, then updating the estimate to December, then to January and now to February. Then any changes to the schedule would have been only positive ones.

Paved the way for Samsung to become the biggest manufacturer of smartphones. For now, Apple still make the biggest selling smartphone - which is an amazing feat considering its the most expensive phone on the market.

It is my loss of faith in Samsung that I eventually gave up waiting and sold my NEW S2 that I bought a few months before Christmas. I bought it under the pretence that JB would be available by December '12, and held out until Jan, but got fed up waiting. So despite appreciation of the superb camera, display and build quality, going to defect - to my own brand.

RejZoR, 15 Jan 2013Even if the update is late, at least it is. Unlike some oth... moreYou are right, a bunch of whiners o don't even think before talking, how many devices got released with Gingerbread, then updated to ICS and are going to be updated to JB? Especially when not all current flagships aren't sold with JB installed?
And we are talking about major updates only, i had an S2 which had prolly 1 minor update every 3 months.
