Weekly poll: will you buy a Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, A53 5G or A33 5G?

20 March 2022
Thanks to excellent support from Samsung, you can use one of these for 5 years. But that support is not something you get on the cheap.

My next phone will be Samsung once my Realme 7 Pro is getting older. Probably going to get S series with the smallest screen size 😎

Solun1, 21 Mar 2022Anyone with high-end 3.5mm headphones can also use a dongle... moreI used to daily drive a dongle before and it damaged my phone's USB-C port so much that I have completely stopped using it and went out to buy a flagship phone with a headphone jack. I am definitely not going back wireless ever again.

keeping my S20FE 4G SD865 instead, i guess i'll upgrade to S23/S24 as A series lose charger now.

Rkm, 21 Mar 2022They should have a philosophy and stick with it. M for bu... moreSamsung got it so right with the A32, A52, and A72. The new model doesn't bring significant improvement from last year's model other than the removal of the still-relevant headphone jack. If I own an A72 or an A52, I see no reason to get the new model. After all, the A52 and A72 are still eligible for three major OS updates.

Judging by the given answers, the S20/S21 FE is a much better buy. There's no point talking about the headphone jack since neither the new Ax3 model nor S20/S21 FE has it (which is truly ironic since all model except for the S21 FE has microSD card support). However, the S20/S21 FE has DeX support, which is something that Samsung still can't give to the current top-end Galaxy A series model.

I love the Samsung Galaxy A series
smartphone, but it's overpriced, and i
                really miss the 3.5mm jack.
                i would love to buy A73 5g

Deal Breaker,, No Charger and No HeadphoneJack.

The Sweet Deal,, Samsung promise about 3 Android versions and 4 years security updates.

I bought my young Daughter a new Galaxy A52S for her Birthday in December, and the phone is a really superb device for the price, and better in many respects to my Wife's Galaxy Note 9, and not too much behind my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in many respects.
We will give the new A53S a miss as it's not worth upgrading from the A52S this year..Maybe an A54S or A74S for my Daughter next year, when I will probably upgrade to a Galaxy S23 Ultra/Note depending on specs and price.

Fruit phone much better than this

A52 5g was a great device with few shortcomings. I believe those remain in the new generation. I am talking about plastic frame, terrible haptics and big bezel. At that price point at least the haptics could be improved. Of course those devices will be huge success for Samsung, since a lot of people know that this is the Android brand and the carriers will sell them as hot cake. For me there are much better alternatives such as Poco F3, the new Motorola Edge 30 and even iPhone SE 2022. And if you want to live with shortcomings of the A series at a half price you can always grab Mi 11 lite 5g/NE or some of the new Redmi 11 5g options.

easy, A52s is my choice for 300.

With the same price you can get a Xiaomi phone for much better performance, faster charging and you get a charger in the box.

They should have a philosophy and stick with it.
                                    M for budget.
A for premium midrange who wants premium build and above average performance without losing stuffs like sd / 3.5mm.
                                    S for premium.

They are now just removing stuffs for the sake of it. Models like a13 should be pushed to M series.
