I updated to Android12 and the phone now randomly turns off / blank screen and requires a forced reboot to become operational again. Can happen once per day - with no warning your phone is off. This has affected many users as seen in Lenovo Community forum on Moto G.
Company agent in their community forum acknowledge they are aware of issue but can give no timing of a fix.

A close relative's G30 is prompting the relative to install this update, and I don't want to advise to proceed with the update if it may cause reboots or impaired performance over the Android 11 the phone is currently running.

One of the menu "buttons" at the bottom is no longer working after I updated a couple of days ago.

Good, this means that it's identical twin Lenovo K13 Pro will also getting Android 12 update. Depend on region, it's identical twin is becoming the Lenovo high budget K series, which has an entry level price very close to Moto E series, almost same as POCO and Realme similar model pricing.
It's identical twin is having the same treatment on software where on last year, getting all the security patch update for each month, same near stock Android UI, VoLTE, NFC, just without the Moto branding.

If they're updating the older phones first, then by release dates the G50 is next.
It goes like this. G50 > G100 > G40F/G60 > G stylus 5g > Edge 20 series and so on.

Samsung rolls out it's updates from the newest flagships down. Funny how Motorola does the opposite & starts from the bottom of the list & works up.
