But normal people who aren't into tech at all, still probably don't know what this does and why they'd want that feature, same actually goes for high refresh rates. They are accustomed to 30-60 FPS and think that's all there is to experience. Good that Sony is going to make their console support technology from early 2010's, only like a decade later... Better late than never, I guess.

The console *will... moreyes of course. i never claimed that it does "magic" or whatever since vrr is just literally gsync/freesync but for consoles. what i mean is, it can at least mitigate the weird choppy feeling of 30fps games, which in turn gives a better experience. correct me if im wrong, but if vrr can somehow make 30fps games feel like how ratchet and clank does 45fps RT mode, its gonna be better for my eyes.

The console *will not* magically start rendering new frames nor slow down the rendering to have proper pacing. In turn, VRR embraces the frame pacing issue as unfixable and avoids making that problem worse by eliminating the mismatch between the display's timing and the actually rendered frames. VRR is great, but the pacing is still off.
