H, 24 Mar 2022How it helps Apple in Europe if UK is not anymore part of EU ?Well since UK has left the EU it would only work in the UK.
But in the UK Apple are one of the top 3 popular brands so much money to be made.
in 2008 after the banking crash it was reported the consumer debt is close to national debt of 1 trillion pounds so plenty of money to be made.

H, 24 Mar 2022How it helps Apple in Europe if UK is not anymore part of EU ?Lol, how? No one forces you to own and use Apple Card. You can connect any of your cards to Apple Wallet and it'll behave the same as Apple Card. You just don't have a fancy metal card and you don't get the "cashback" stuff which sounds awful lot like someone is selling your buying habits and you get few cents in return for it... So I'm fine with not having that.

The other day I paid stuff contactless with my Apple Watch and iPhone, only with Mastercard being "paired" with the Apple Wallet. It behaves exactly the same.

People constantly whine how Apple ecosystem is a walled garden and whatnot, entirely ignoring it's that way only as far as you decide to go into it. Really, only device that's kinda locked is Apple Watch because it just can't operate without an iPhone. I otherwise use none of Apple services and I use AirPods on Windows and Linux devices exclusively and they work great there.

kek, 23 Mar 2022Apple is just a status brand as of right now. Nothing they ... moreGood analysis and I mostly agree! :)

As far as the iPad/Android Tabler goes, did you see the last price from android ? These are insane too, even in phone (See Motorola and the X30 (Pro) for 999$) :P

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2022You know, I've been thinking for a while about this. A... moreApple is just a status brand as of right now. Nothing they sell you is worth the price they ask for it, and most likely than not, you can get something better for cheaper. That applies to all of their products, some more than others.

Macbooks and iMacs? Go Linux/Windows and build your own or get an AMD/Intel laptop with a good screen and large battery

iPhones? Plenty to choose from in the Android world.

iPads? This is perhaps the only product where Apple might have an edge, but the prices are ridiculous and the Galaxy Tabs and Lenovo tablets are closing that gap faster with each gen. I will even go as far to say that current models are a good choice for 95% of people.

AppleTV? Scam. Same goes for their audio products.

And because I know someone will come here and say "But they have the M1", yes they do, but can you do anything you want with it? No, you cant. You are stuck with MacOS and cant boot anything else. And a few years from now, they will drop Rosetta, and with it, say good bye to a lot of x86 software.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2022You know, I've been thinking for a while about this. A... moreBor ios is changing not dramatically(very slowly) but it is and we talk about it here in GSM arena because we talk about All things Tech(especially smartphones)

You know, I've been thinking for a while about this. As someone who's still using his Samsung Galaxy S8+ since launch, why do we still talk about Apple on this site? Not offending them or anything, but I'm genuinely curious. Everyone says they're never going to get an iPhone because of iOS, and even if they packed some competitive features in their phones, iOS will always be the main dealbreaker.

I haven't looked into iPhones much, I'll admit it. But I think iOS is becoming more like Android every couple of years since iOS 14. With widgets. That's it for now, at least in my opinion. Or is it that iOS still isn't "open source".

See, here in the US, almost every person younger than 30 years old has an iPhone. I know VERY well that iMessage technically sucks because it's default messaging. But despite the recent rise of lawsuits and stuff about Apple bullying people into buying iPhones through the "Green bubble blue bubble" thing going on, students in high school use Snapchat almost all the time. It doesn't matter if you have an android and everyone else in the school has an iPhone. If you have snapchat, you're golden.

Sorry if this is so long, lol. But I've heard from people using iPhones in school here in the US that the reason they keep buying them (exclude the whole "an iPhone a year" thing) is because they are "smooth" and "fast". Having an iPhone here is considered the best phone for socializing, with people saying that the camera quality is the best of all phones. The thing that makes people here make fun of Androids is their reputation of being "slow" and having horrible camera quality. It becomes a MILLION TIMES WORSE and more widespread when you send that quality over to someone who has an iPhone via any social media app.

It's because of optimization. Technically, the most expensive Samsung and even Sony phone would beat iPhones in camera quality on social media apps like Snapchat. But because Snapchat was first developed on iOS in 2011, iPhones provide the best experience for the app. Androids tend to have worse social media camera quality as a result. And this reputation spreads like wildfire here.

Oh, and about that "iPhones are smooth and fast" thing. Nobody here cares about specs. They just want a phone that works. I think i've even heard a few people say that Androids were too "filled up" with things they said they didn't need. They said iPhones were the definition of a "smooth", and overall "fast", smartphone. I know hollywood likely had influence on iPhones being the #1 phone in America, but still.... maybe it's something else?

Basically, iPhones are an American thing. Not a global thing that Apple and America tend to try and promote. Dang it, I'm among the dumb and ignorant Americans here the in the states! :(

ok, phew. I think i talked WAY too much.

But really, why do you guys still talk about apple here despite being diehard android users? iPhones would've been an irrelavent and even forgotten topic here on GSMA.

I read GAMIR3DH's comment on another post that people want competition and Apple to do better, but that they'd tried the iPhone 6 and 6s and hated them because of iOS.

Do you guys really think Apple (AND iOS) can change that much? Or are they going to continue being an "America-only" thing where they profit mostly off of ignorant younger people who still can't accept that iPhones haven't really changed that much compared to Android phones year after year? High schoolers and even university attenders say that iPhones are "smooth and fast" and that SPECS DON'T EVEN MATTER COMPARED TO ACTUALLY USING AN IPHONE. Would you agree with that? Because if iOS isn't technically going to change at all, why even bother talking about Apple at ALL?

Thanks for reading my overly long comment lol.

just asking these questions out of curiosity.
