Europeans do not make any smartphones currently. Americans love the first and second amendments which Europeans do not have, free speech and gun rights, yes, Americans do not like to give their phones to cops to check IDs stored into phone memories, do not like to register guns to be traced and bullied afterwards and prefer to give to cops a plastic card rather their cell phones, you need in USA a court order to check your phone and nobody trusts any street cop that he/she will respect the privacy laws which in Europe do not exist, the cops can enter your home anytime or arrest you anytime without an evidence in Europe, without evidence that you committed a crime. Because in USA it is needed an evidence the people keep privacy about what they do and own.

                What you do not know, here in USA when cops stop you they take your driver license card from you and enter their cop car to check your ID on their cop laptop mounted between cop car seats. Having your driver ID in Apple wallet the cops will ask to give your phone to them check it, will ask your passcode too, will let you without a phone in your car, so you cannot call a layer and the cops will search on your phone incriminatory evidence, sexual pictures, text messages about drugs, criminal acts and so on letting you wait in your car for one hour until they find evidence against you to arrest you.

                    You don't have to have your drivers license on you in my country, not even your ID, all you need to know is your birth number which everyone knows and they'll find you in the system and see if you have the license, etc.

                      Well, in Europe we already had drivers license app for a few years. So Bravo us and a. You are behind once again.

                        And after 10 years, imagine being a pariah for the government: with 1 click you remain without money, possessions, identity etc.
                        În the end, lazy people will pay the price for letting a few take "care" of them.

                                I use more phone number than my ID, my phone is ID. Too prehistoric to wear wallet, should be moved long time ago.
