Why can they make 1/11" 16 Mp or 20 Mp sensor? It would be great

Denis Thomas, 05 May 2022Why do you ever bother with them? Sony trolls never stop.I get bored at work and they respond, so it keeps me a bit busy.

I wish it would be a regular bayer sensor with dual aperture. If we could get something like that we might finally have something that truly rivals the 808 and offers a real upgrade in camera tech we haven't seen in years.
And yes other beat it in sharpening and other areas like hdr and ois. Extra lenses. But as far as accurate and fine detail its still barely touched.
Why has it been 10 years and phones barely edge it still except hdr and ois.

          Can't wait

What gives better results at 105mm equivalent focal length?
(85mm and 105mm are classic focal lengths (equiv.) for portrait and macro.)
            1. 50MP, 1/1.1" with lens of 26mm focal length (equivalent) and cropping 4x.
Equals to 26mm*4=104mm focal length (equivalent).
            Equals to 50Mp/4² = 50Mp/16 = 3.125Mp. (1/1.1")/4=1/4.4"
            2. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1, 1/2.4" Exmor R CMOS Sensor, 10.2 Mp, focal length (equiv.) 24–120 mm. Year 2009.

i thought we already had a 1 inch sensor on leica and Sony phones, cant manufacturers just add it on their phones?

i guess because they don't actually use the whole sensor

LOL, 31 Mar 2022Sony has never been good at software. Fact.Of course now a days its sadly no good either way. With Sony its still lacking something. And behind in hdr and exposure. And in others to over processed.

Hardware is good, but if your software/algorithms are not good, photography results will still be average at best.

Refer to Xperia phones, and Apple/Samsung/Pixel phones using same or similar Sony sensors.

And the screen brightness of the galaxy s4 and s5 along with speakers, camera, and battery matching 2 plus year older devices is matching older phones.

So rewrite that comment with logic and facts please.

Physically old hardware? I didn't know using the latest-gen chipset is old hardware, just like having the latest-gen RAM and storage either. Maybe you need to brush up on the topic of "old hardware" because you might be a little confused there buddy.

"On top of cutting costs in marketing, development, release and availability, optimization, etc. And still want to charge me."

Cutting costs in marketing? They've been doing quite a bit of marketing as of recently, but then again it might not be in your country which is why you don't see them, so they aren't even charging you since they don't even sell to you.

What costs are they cutting in development and optimization? They have the best battery optimization on android with battery care and HS power control, something people are borrowing now.

"And no a variant is not the same thing. It does mean it was not their first but it's still late and not the same."

Huh? A variant is of the same model is still the same model. An Xperia 1ii with 8GB RAM is still an Xperia 1ii, just like an Xperia 1ii with 12GB of RAM is still an Xperia 1ii. They are just different variants/versions. Don't be so obtuse.

Western refers to North + South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand

My bad I used gaming terms, EU usually refers to Europe, not European Union.
