Baldilocks73, 29 Mar 2022The A15 also uses less power than the previous iPhone SE, s... moreThat's true, but I'm not so sure "where" it is more efficient.
If it is only more efficient at the high-end of performance, then it won't really be felt in real-world conditions since most people will not be using this device at that part of the spectrum. If it is in the middle-level of performance, then it would have some advantages.

But would those possible efficiency gain, offset the power-draw of the 5G chip?
I think it could. But then it comes back to your usage.
If you turn the screen off, without much processing going on, but it is streaming Spotify to you with that 5G antenna, it'll have an impact. On the other hand, if it's not actively using the 5G connection and you are playing a game, you may notice the battery life improvement over the iPhone 8Se.

All in all, I don't think battery life has improved for real-world use. Which is a shame, because the old iPhone 8Se had abysmal battery life. So the real purpose of this change to the battery was because Apple wants you to go to them for repairs, instead of doing it yourself or at a cheap kiosk.

I was really hoping for an improved camera. The updated chip really isn’t anywhere near enough for me to upgrade my 2020 SE.

Oh my 200mAh = 2 hours? If that was true then crApple can make the week lasting phone possible but they choose not to.
Let us call a spade a spade here, this phone sucks ok? You can't rant about all other brands for making mistakes and defend crApple for making this ... thing.

But guys the battery is a whopping " 200mAh " larger!
Obviously Apple did this to make the phone better for you, it had nothing to do with the fact that the 5G modem uses more power... Or more sinister, that this new device is less repair-friendly because it doesn't accept the same battery as the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8Se.

Psst, Apple has done this every year. Despite having roughly the same exterior size and roughly the same battery size, they purposely change the batteries:
                              (2915mAh to 2691mAh - 8.3%) iPhone 8+ vs 7+ vs 6S+ vs 6+
                              (1960mAh to 1715mAh - 14.3%) iPhone 8 vs 7 vs 6S vs 6
                              (1624mAh to 1440mAh - 12.8%) iPhone SE vs 5S vs 5C vs 5
                              (1432mAh to 1420mAh - 0.9%) iPhone 4S vs 4
                              (1400mAh to 1220mAh - 14.8%) iPhone 3GS vs 3G

...now compare that to the likes of Nokia which had a couple "standard" batteries which it used across many different models, for many years, with great repairability practices.

And the SE line has awful bezels and tiny displays, while barely being more compact than a small modern phone. Performance is good (but complete overkill), support is good, obviously, the cameras will be okay at best and far behind any modern phone camera, the display is okay too, but as you said low res (also low refresh rate) and last but not least the price is just not good at all. I can buy a Zenfone 8 for 599€ at Alternate today, which is the phone I use currently. It simply offers so much more besides support than the SE 2022 for pretty much the same price. The screen size alone is just such a big difference, let alone screen quality and Android won't force you to use gestures, so you won't have to get used to new controls.
