The last motorola I owned only lasted 15 months. Unless you count the three months it wasn't working properly. The phone was highly rated when I bought it but 12 months in I was having problems even after 3 factory resets. Motorola was not any help. I loved my LG phone. I have a two samsung phones but now I have to put up with Bixby. I do not know any one who uses Bixby. Samsung does some quirky things that do not always make sense. For example, arrow keys on the keyboard when your texting. In short I will never buy a Motorola phone again. The only reason Motorola is #3 is because LG is no longer in the game.

It's sad, because I kept chosing Motorola because they were the only brand in the US that seemed to still care about keeping the 3.5 jack and an SD card with respectable specs. Very happy with a g100.
They are all trending towards the Samsung/Apple model of taking things away. So the latest version of the g200, they took both of those things away again.
In the end, these aren't 100% deal breakers. BUT if a phone has decent specs and has those, I'm 10/10 times going to chose that over the model that doesn't.
Well, until then. Hopefully some other brand will fill in the gap there.

I live in the US and I currently use a Motorola phone. Why? I don't like iOS, and Samsung had a reputation in my mind for having bloated software with ads, and my budget was quite low. I want fast, clean software and I really don't care about updates that may break stuff or increase the already bloated size of the Android OS. Therefore, I picked the Moto e 2020 for $120, and I think that was a good choice. Although the new Samsung Galaxy A13 5G looks enticing...

Where you can find a price with that spec? That was when their phones was cheaper back then and now their price are slightly raising people start to switch to other brand. With the poor software optimization & Xiaomeme keep releasing multiple model that are basically has the same look & spec. People might want to stay away from the company and look up at the other brand completely

Honestly, even in Europe where both brands are available, I would buy the Motorola Edge 30 Pro over the Xiaomi 12, not only the Motorola cost 100€ less, but it has features I'm more interested in, the only problem would be software support.

Best brand I've ever used for updates. Definitely software updates are a positive for me based on my experience with the edge s. All they really need to do is sort out their nightmode on their cameras which is the worst nightmode I've used

Moto G has one major os update (Moto G Pro has two major updates because of Android One program). From Moto Edge 20 series Motorola provides two major updates. Edge 30 Pro has extended software support because Motorola is giving an extra year for security updates but it'll still get two Android versions.
Overall Motorola is just average in terms of software support compared to Samsung.
