Oh please, I fear it'll be yet another overhyped gimmick because it's Xiaomi! (Think OnePlus and Hasselblad)
Leica should ideally partner with Honor instead. That way Huawei's legacy will actually continue properly....

It's really unfortunate what happened to Huawei, they were the goats. That Leica and Huawei partnership is just as iconic as Zeiss and Nokia.

Leica means nothing. Consumer grade "Leica" cameras are just rebadged Panasonic cameras anyway. This will be probably just like the Oppo+Hasselblad pertnership. It will be just some color filters to mimic the classic Leica look, and Xiaomi will charge more money for the brand.
I mean look at the real top players in smartphone cameras like Apple and Samsung. They don't need any co-branding stuff because their camera is good. You only come up with this brand marketing only if your actually camera is no good, and you are trying to fool consumers by using a photography brand.
