      Chipset recycling is nothing new in smartphone world. Even other brands are doing the same as well.

            If Samsung decided that Exynos 9810 is good enough to be reused, then why didn't they update the phones that used them in the first place (aka the phones that originally used em)

              That Exynos 9810 is the exact same SoC that powers:
              · S9
              · S9 Plus
              · Note 9
              · S10 Lite
              · Note 10 Lite

              In conclusion, Samsung sometimes reuses an old chip instead of "upgrading" with every new generation

That is a literal money-grabbing planned obsolescence move right there. Having the same chipset recycled is one thing, not having USB-C 3.1 with DeX support is another matter.

                          Its funny that this device along with the Note 10 Lite gets Android 11 and 12, whereas the S9, S9 Plus and the Note 9 running the same SoC (Exynos 9810) can't go past Android 10.

                          Like Samsung come on, you can do it, give more updates to three of your best flagships (imo the 2018 flagships from Samsung were just great)
