Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022Wow,ok mr smart guy if you actually read the previous comme... moreI did read them. So what? People who want extra large phones are finally happy to get some options.
And people like you are basically attacking them for it.

They have the right to want super big phones the same way people want large ones or some want smaller ones.

If you are upset that there are not many options for a small sized true flagship that is understandable 100%. In fact its bogus that the full fledged smaller flagship has been nearly eliminated.
However that has nothing to do with these people finally having the slight option of a very large one. It effects you or your device in no way.
And in fact there seems to have been less of them than small flagships.
So if you are upset remember they are in the same boat and you want to be made be mad at the company.
Not illogical attacking the users and devices.

Duh!!????

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022Wow,ok mr smart guy if you actually read the previous comme... moreVivo's upcoming x80 lineup*,and those are just a few examples, and yet you act like we're complaining for nothing,if you actually see the smartphone market as a whole instead of your image in your Brain of a perfect smartphone market where everyone has their own choices of size, features, etc
You will see that some people are being thrown out of the ever enlarging market because companies focus on the public, who kills all the variety in the market,so instead of giving stupid arguments, see the point of view of other people, instead of being so self centered.

If you actually pay attention to the market, the past few years barely any manufacturers are making below 6.0-6.4 inches devices (the mid range market has more variety in sizes, but mainly I'm talking about flagship phones) what options do we have?
A few iphones, the s22,the Zenfone 8, mi 12,a few china only Meizu devices
      What about 6.6inch+ devices?
      S22 ultra, most of Xiaomi's mid range lineup,mi 12 pro,oppo's x5 lineup, vivo's upcoming line up

        Get over yourself.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2022Any problem with that? I don't mind 6.5-6.7 inch phon... moreThat's why plastic is still the better material, lighter and less fragile and every other reviewer going "wooo glass is so premium, but ceramic is next level" is incredibly infuriating.

The example of the extra 200 g is kinda misleading tho, as a male skinny jeans user, you can fit up to a 90 mm width and 150 mm book relatively comfortably (small moleskine). a thinner and less wide 7" 21:10 phone can still get in there.

The vivo X note is 4 mm taller and wider than the best selling phone of last year (samsung a12) and if you can fit one in your pocket you can probably fit the other.
If you couldn't fit the a12 you are having to deal with a 10-15 gram increase depending on the material.

would you notice ~12 grams more in your bag?

Plus the weight literally isn't an issue. Before you even mention putting it into your back pocket don't even. Phones of any type do not belong in your back pocket.

V, 12 Apr 2022Small phone users are a very loud and vocal minority.Any problem with that? I don't mind 6.5-6.7 inch phones if they have good dimensions, but 7 inch is just over the top,it's too much for literally almost everyone
You can't even put it anywhere but your bag and even that will feel slightly/mostly more uncomfortable, because now you have to log all the things in your bag+ a 215-240 gram phone, and Don't act like you will feel nothing from adding a 200+ gram phone in your bag because you will.

mqondy, 13 Apr 2022Because that's the size we want and anything beyond th... moreThis is a daft argument so I wish folk would stop making it. Tablets generally start at 8 inches and the aspect ratios are completely different especially for these smaller tablets. There is a massive difference between 6.67 inches, which seems to be the common ceiling size, and 8 inches and that's where phones like the X Note and the older Huawei Mate 20 X fall into. It's a great space and anyone who thinks otherwise has just never lived with a bigger phone. 7 - 7.4 inches with the right aspect ratio (78 - 84mm wide) is amazing for media consumption and gameplay which is probably the main use of phones these days. If you want to go and squint at something under 6 inches then fair play, you've got plenty of choices. Go leave us who want bigger phones to enjoy the choice of the 3 or 4 phones on the market that fit the bill.

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2022They have been stuck in the 6.7-6.8” for years nowBecause that's the size we want and anything beyond tht is too big for reason.. and they already sell tablets by the millions so why wud they make a phone with a tablet size screen to compete with their own tablets .. it's doesn't make sense

I've been using Huawei Mate 20x for 3 years .. I've small hands but I just fell in love with Mate20x when i first saw it launched.. I've never been able to use the phone 1 handed.. Its difficult to put in the front pocket of jeans.. Its pretty bulky and I can never think of taking it on a run.. If u r in a tricky situation and need quick access to phone, that is not possible.. But the big screen experience is amazing for playing games, multimedia content, web browser .. thankfully Huawei put the best hardware they had at that time and phone still runs buttery smooth.. I'm glad vivo launched X Note .. By the time my Mate20x dies, x note price cuts would make it a delicious consideration

My 7.2" Mate 20X is 85mm wide, 87mm with case, and no issues here holding it, carrying it, or operating it one-handedly. And to the people saying 'If you want a big screen phone, get a tablet instead': A tablet will always be bigger and bulkier than a phone with the same screen size.
