I am assuming the MAX variant will have a bit overclocked frequency 🤔

They are... moreYeah I kindbof agree with that but also think that aluminum metal is a better compromise than plastic, this is coming from a 240g stainless steel frame iPhone 13 PM. MY HANDS GO NUMB in about 10 mins into gaming

GSI ROM that support project treble can still support OnePlus phones.
          Maybe it's our last hope.

ReStore, 15 Apr 2022rain check on another OnePlus. These companies are raining ... moreGoing by track record, MediaTek devices usually have worse Custom ROM support compared to Snapdragon and Exynos powered devices

I am all in for Dimensity chips but lackluster custom ROM support doesn't want me to get them.

                You're a little uninformed right
It must be another one of those who think that only Qualcomm chips suck, people
This Dimensity 8100 proved better than snapdragon 8gen1 in themes such as gaming platforms, has better stability and energy savings. If it is to belittle a product, use technical basis and not Hate

I'd have recommended the mi 10T back in 2020 if you don't consider MIUI stupid, but their follow-up (the 11T) switched to a plastic frame as well. Vivo V23 maybe?

Spanky, 16 Apr 2022I don’t understand why people diss plastic frames. They are... moreThe paint tends to chip when taking damage, and plastic is a worse conductor of heat (a lot of flagship SoC's lately run very hot, so better heat conduction is preferable). That said, I think I do prefer a plastic frame over a metal frame with a gloss finish(those get scratched too easily), but I'd take a matte metal frame over both. Different strikes for different folks, I guess?

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2022better you say but do they have custom roms? hmm suppose I ... moreWell metal frame has better heat dissipation

But then again that better heat dissipation does make the phone more uncomfortable to hold in long gaming sessions

SOMAYU, 15 Apr 2022Always good to see more phones announced with the D8100. Th... moreI don’t understand why people diss plastic frames. They are lighter, better looking and less prone to scratches. I wouldn’t want metal frames on my phones.

Phone looks good lets home the difference in new chip will be something ultra big.
Othervise it will be too much hassle for nothing.

You'd have to relax one, or realistically more of those to find something that fits your bill!
Only older Reno phones come to mind for you but they didnt have the Moto/Nokia/Asus/Lenovo/Pixel like stock UI, but ColorOS/RealmeUI is now a lot better than it once was!

I learned it the hard way too, because I also had a very strict set of conditions/pre-requisites for my upgrade last year. I had the Z2 plus for nearly 4 years (also briefly used Nokia 5.1+ for 3 months) and wanted a phone which was/had-

Another fancy name just like Dimensity 1200 Ultra

MediaTek lacks good custom rom support, and with OnePlus buggy slow software track this device is no different from other manufacturers.
