Everyday new wave of the same. At this point 1 year old Asus Zenfone 8 looks like better package: same performance, better photos and even beloved audio jack!

Boy I miss the OnePlus 8 design. Why can't 1+ make a phone like Oneplus 8 & just update the chip, maybe throw in a telephoto cam etc...

This price point is interesting. And seeing the S30 listed when it's about $300 on aliexpress is funny, at least for NA customers. Thought I had seen it in EU markets under a different name, had the same unusual camera island design. Oh well. And as usual, Edge 30 Pro seems to cost more than its local counterpart, the X30. Twice as much lol. At that stage it depends on what bands you need, and small features like center hole punch or to the side, headphone jack, color options, some even prefer a side-mounted scanner. It's hard to pick. Not like this Ace is overpriced or is a bad phone, far from it. It's just not... OnePlus. Don't know how to feel. But speaking of bands, I wish there was more standardization. iqoo z5x is perfect for $250 usd, besides the notch of course. but the bands are for a specific market. how are these even enabled or disabled? they're the same chips and modems. couldn't one flash a custom rom and get the extra bands? the iqoo mentioned in the article is great as well, but again the bands, for anybody who imports. which at this point I think would be a large enough crowd to warrant common bands. oh, wait... then companies couldn't release the same phone several times for varying prices, sometimes up to twice as much as another market. whoopsies, wouldn't want to miss out on that profit!

I prefer the Redmi K50 as well, but sadly it's China only.
Are there any downsides to buying a chinese phone and using it in Europe?

Because dodgy apps arent the only risk to your phone. Outside the shop i work at, over 30 people got their phones tapped into wirelessly. Im pretty sure id rather have a security update that can prevent that from happening rather than risk it my friend.

It is jsut a way to make people think they are more protected while in practice they are already safe as long as they do not do something stupid like share their personal info or download untrusted apps.
Keeping your OS to the one came out of the box or one close to it proved to make phones last oh so long and much more stable too.

As a marketing point, it will make it a rival, since you are already into those things proving it works to sell units.

Last time I liked a OnePlus was the X, but it has too many problems. So the last good OnePlus to me was the 2

Everything is too big to fit into a pocket or use with one hand.

Gsmarena reviews becoming just a predictable "feels good in the hand" or "premium feel" circle jerk for the phone vendors.

                                        Sad.
