kek, 24 Apr 2022iOS 4 is a great example of how much can marketing help you... moreOk…but Android….back then still….had th….at weird stutter… that made it very …. Annoying.

I actually kept my launch day iPhone 4 on iOS4 for 3 years until I was forced to update to iOS6 after getting it unlocked. I did love my iPhone 4 when I had it but love my last 4 phones I bought.

          Essential Phone
          Google Pixel 3
          Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
          Motorola Razr 5G

Can no longer go back to a slab. Flip phones for life. Hence, my namesake.

iOS 4 is a great example of how much can marketing help you sell a crappy product.

Symbian, Android and even fkin Blackberry had multitasking on those times and were at times cheaper than any iPhone.

Oh the old good times of iOS when everything was simple and tidy unlike today that is full of useless features like the Android. The philosophy of iOS of a smartphone OS to be almost like an empty canvas with just a few apps to do the usual things and to leave the third party apps to do more complicated things like file management on an app level has gone. For those who want a simple experience there is not an option any more. We have to suffer searching to find the thing we want to do through of forest of techie rubbish.

I wish iOS would revert to the general look of the old design with a more modern twist.

                      Big leaps:
                      Windows 98 to Windows XP
                      Windows XP to Windows7 Pro
                      Windows10 Pro to....Windows ??

OS X 10.1 (Puma) to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
                      OS X 10.6 (Snow-L) to OS X 10.14 (Mojave)
                      macOS 11 to..... macOS ??

                      iOS 4.0 to iOS 7.1
                      iOS 7.1 to iOS 12
                      iOS 14 to.... iOS ??

                      Android 2.3 to Android 4.1
                      Android 4.1 to Android 5.1
                      Android 9.0.... to Android ??

This was a refreshing read; focusing on software for a change instead of hardware. Would love to see an Android equivalent some time in the future, or even Symbian S60 for that matter. I think between Android 2 to 4, there should be some equally important releases.

It would've been fascinating to get a similar look at other non-mobile operating systems such as Windows XP or 7. Unfortunately, that's outside the scope of this site.

Also, can't believe I dropped my first "first" comment here.
