YouTube comments have a big spam problem

As long as it is correct I don't think it does. LTT isn't the only YT'er that does tech, Jayztwocents, Bitwit, GamersNexus, Unbox Theory, DVZN Media, OzTalksHW, Tech Yes City and literally hundreds if not thousands more. Nearly all of which cover mostly the same stuff with varying personalities and focus.

          It's not people who are spamming, it is bots. Hundreds, maybe even thousands of bot accounts, are programmed with an algorithm to spam like a virus. Removing the dislikes doesn't do anything to decrease spam from bots.

                          Spam comment is still a comment, so there's no incentive for YT to decrease "engagement", as others have pointed out.

                          Also, don't think scammers are lazy based on their obviously fake profiles and typing errors. It's done on purpose - scam that looks legit on the first glance might attract people who will figure it out down the line and drop out, wasting scammers time in process.
                          Scam that is obvious is much better at filtering only easy targets, saving a bunch of time in process.

                            But YT itself show scam ads, with some super inapproperiate ads as well and many misleading ads and fake products so these spans are just some spices to the already bad recipe.

                                this spam and phishing is a huge problem on most social media specially Youtube and Instagram

                                        What spam problem? the problem was in dislike counter. Now they have removed it. Definitely now no people will be spamming they don't like videos in comments. Also now Google's investors are happy, who cares about users, users are not even paying for there YouTube premium.
