iOS gains ground in recent years, Android still dominates the global market

Android lost about 8% of its market share in the last four years.

I believe that this is because of several reasons, and that this trend will continue to grow and accelerate even. I wouldn't be suprised if iOS hit >75% market share in the US by 2030 and >40% global market share in that time.

    1. For non-tech people (I was one once), it is far simpler to go with Apple and you can't seriously go wrong with one. With Android, there is a higher reward, but also a higher risk of a disasterous experience.
    2. iOS is seen as luxury, and everyone wants to own a luxury product.
    3. iOS just works and produces a quality experience for most people, whereas Android can see buggy updates and laggy UIs.
    4. Android manufactures copy all of Apple's anti-consumer practices, giving them no benefit or distinguishing factor over Apple's hardware.
    5. iOS is supported for years and years, giving unbeatable software support for most price categories, though Samsung is stepping up their game on this front.

Some apps yes you can swipe from left side, but some you can't and you're forced to tap on top. Basically my S20 is usable with one hand, iphone is NOT usable with one hand.

Tried to switch to iphone 2 times. I simply can't because of 2 reasons: 1. iOS can't freely arrange apps on the home-screen, they must be arranged from top to bottom. 2. iOS must use two hands because on horrible 'back' gesture - this is probably worst. iOS must adopt back gesture like android, then it would be perfect.

And you said you owned iPhone 12? Are you sure you aren’t lying? Because what you just said is not true at all. Back option=Swipe right from any part of left side of the screen. Exact same for safari and also swipe from right side of the screen and you can go forward where that have functions.

-Trix-, 24 Apr 2022Nice to hear that you stopped banging your head to the wall... morePeople switched also out of curiosity or boredom, not only disappointment.
Also, people have switched from IOS to Android too. I am one of those people. Had iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone Xs and iPhone 12. Also Galaxy S9+, S20 and S21. And some Realmes, Xiaomis and OnePluses for short period of time.

I had iPhones just because of their services (like Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Arcade), which of course don't work on other devices. But IOS is too restricted for me and I always had the feeling I had two left hands when using iPhones. Even a simple back option you can't do it through nice easy swiping like in Android phones, you need to reach out in the top left corner for the back button. Or in the lower left corner if you are in some Safari page. Not to mention the simple copying from PC to iPhone through plug and copy. You need iTunes for Windows or use icloud.com.
I always have better satisfaction when using Android phones.
Also iPhones charging is pathetic. From 85-100% it takes longer than from 20-85%, just to save battery in the long run. Samsung does it too, but is much faster from 85-100%. Which lets me to believe Apple is kind of bullsh*ting about this, just to get on people's nerves. I mean 45 minutes from 85% to 100%, no matter the model, no matter the charger used (even with the 27W charger). And the last 2% I think it takes 15 minutes or something like that, lol.

And most of the time it isn't Android, rather lazy app developers if an app chugs battery in the background. It isn't the norm on android too, but sometimes you just don't want silly apps keep running in the background.
